Let's talk about everyone's favorite binge-drinking, crack-smoking, pussy-eating Mayor!

Today's exciting development: Mayor Ford tackles Toronto City Councilwoman Pam McConnell during a vote to strip him of powers!

What's next for our unpredictable hero? Is it possible to sink any lower? Will he perhaps find some shredded remnant of his sense of shame in the gutter? Stay tuned!

You know he's a mess when he frequently makes the US news.

He was being discussed on the past weekend's "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me" show on NPR. They were speaking with a Canadian about him, and the Canadian said all of Canada would like to apologize for his behavior. It was funny to hear, and yet not something an American would ever say if it was one of our citizens.

As someone living in a city that just got rid of its national-news-making mayor, I think it's fabulous that another city gets to have the spotlight for a while.

This past weekend's Bill Maher show had a wonderful bit of monologue on him. Highly recommend watching!!

I'm super super super confused about him. For years my Toronto FB friends have been posting all these articles about illegal stuff he does. How in the fork did he even got voted into the position? Also, how in the fork was he not [I don't know the term, fired? impeached?] years ago?

mars, he can only be removed if he is sent to prison, or resigns. he is not going to resign. if he has done something imprisonable, it's probably going to take a long time to go through the courts. democracy, i never thought you would fail me this way!

Oooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh interesting. So petty crime probably wouldn't result in removal if even those things were to be proven true? As it wouldn't put him in prison?

I was kind of shocked there wasn't a thread bout this, too.My partner is from Toronto, so he's basically had the whole circus live-tweeted by various friends (one of whom knows a journalist who was there for today's tackle). On the one hand, you feel kind of awful watching such a train wreck; on the other, he just keeps upping the ante. I mean, we thought the drunken stupor comment was outrageous (you can even get a t-shirt!)...

Image

...but then the all-you-can-eat-homecooked-pussy buffet knocked it into oblivion. The man is just the gift that keeps on giving (for joke writers, anyway).

My boyfriend has started a haiku contest on his FB wall. Behold the contributions thus far.

yeah, i think the technicality is that you have to be able to be eligible to vote to be mayor, and being in prison takes that away? this broke it down for me.

i suspect there are some things he may have done that will lock him up, like apparently the police have another video, and vice ran a story about how he/his employee paid a hacker to try to delete evidence from a gang database. this is totally gossip and hearsay, but a crack debacle was forecasted a year ago by a guy i met in the ER who went to high school with him and told me about his drug dealing, bully ways. what do you have to do to have people saying things like that 20 years after you go to high school together!?

And the other party is very young. Legal but very young. So the rumour goes.

I don't think I could handle a sex tape.

As someone who lives in Toronto, I too am severely embarrassed by this man. And I'm upset that this stopped press coverage of the Senate scandal (long story, other Canadians will know what I'm talking about)...I wanted that to take down Stephen Harper.

This is my new favourite thing on the internet.

And Lobsteriffic, I totally agree. It's also taking away (the total non-)coverage of the TPP which is really forked.

Has anyone else seen this? Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake went to city hall to wrestle Rob Ford! And sling sandwiches! As an old school 80's wrestling fan, this really kind of makes my morning.

that is awesome. And from what the article says, he is the second pro wrestler to approach Mr Ford.
Between this and the video mashing up him with Van Damme in the Volvo commercial (and the giant squid video), my day is pretty much golden.

Yeah, this mayor definitely beats Leicester's current mayors for newsworthiness, although I think it was national or even international news when a previous Lard Mayor's trousers fell down at an "educational event for schoolchildren".

I felt a bit sorry for him, but it's always nice when your city makes the news! Even if it is for a notorious mayor!
