Ever since Madoff was arrested shortly after the crash in Fall 2008, the concepts of trickle-down economics and Ponzi schemes have been inextricably linked in my mind.

I'm confused, what did you intend to say? Your comment looks to be negative (my understanding being "Obama is doing trickle down as well, therefore Obama is bad too") to me, so I don't understand why you think it was censored into a positive statement.

I don't see how the content of your message was changed in the slightest. Feel free to talk as much shiitake about 44th President of the United States of America, Barack Hussein Obama as you like! But you're going to have to troll harder than that. I'm fairly certain you only post here to stir stuff up but I like to keep you around for such gems as "44th President of the United States of America, Barack Hussein Obama". I dropped that one at the grocery store yesterday and MBM almost died of embarrassment.

I'm fairly certain you only post here to stir stuff up but I like to keep you around for such gems as "44th President of the United States of America, Barack Hussein Obama". I dropped that one at the grocery store yesterday and MBM almost died of embarrassment. Except that, as you know, I did not write " 44th President of the United States of America, Barack Hussein Obama". What's the point of posting on this forum when moderators change my posts for their own amusement. And the fact the you proceed to call me a troll simply for disagreeing with an overtly partisan post is ridiculous. Is someone who does not support Obama a troll? Is someone who has a different point of view a troll? Quote: but I like to keep you around You might as well ban me. The effect is the same and its far less cruel. IMO, your insulting behavior is an example of why so many cringe at the term vegan. I am not going to let you intimidate me. I am still a vegan even if I don't vote for Obama and do not march in lock-step with the AR agenda.

testing this out - Barack Obama
Also, what is the lock-step AR agenda?
Also I guess I just don't get it. I posted this to FB and the responses from most people seemed like the average person "got it", but several people took it as some deeply partisan post defending Obama. If anything it's showing that Obama is proving that trickledown economics doesn't work, which means that both parties have done it and it's failed both...what is partisan about that?

Barrack Obama ?? (I don't see the filter in play)
I don't understand this thread. I mean I understand that people who champion trickledown econ should know it doesn't work. It means we need to work toward a different way.

he used a not-very-nice nickname for obama in his original post. it was changed to the man's full name and professional title, which isn't partisan per se; more just less disrespectful. and although i am inclined to agree that he has the right to say disrespectful things in general, i do think it's trolling at least a little bit to come to a board where you know most posters are in favor of obama and say mean things about him. but this is america! you have the right to troll! and the mods on this board have the right to mod.

I wouldn't even say that most people are in favor of Obama here, I'd say that most people are most likely not in favor of Romney. If there were another candidate in play, who knows if someone would favor them over Obama. The realism is in this country, at this point, you have a choice of Romney and Obama. And I think you have a better chance of Obama in changing policies away from trickledown economics than you have of Mr Burns err Mr Romney.

If Robert Gates had considered the GOP ticket I just might be willing to go with the non-incumbent. I'm sure there are a couple other people that might woo my vote, however I don't think there are many (if any) people that would make it through the current GOP primaries that would have any ideology I could get behind. 3rd party candidates are nice to talk about for discussion, but at present it's Obama or Romney, and I know for certain the one I don't want.

unethical_vegan wrote: i guess you find this to be funny since its "your side" that is doing the censorship. no, just funny because you seem to think that having someone slightly alter your post on a little non-governmental internet forum is in violation of your constitutional rights. (maybe you don't actually think this, but a lot of people do.) linanil wrote: I wouldn't even say that most people are in favor of Obama here, I'd say that most people are most likely not in favor of Romney. pretty much. i'd wager that a lot of PPKers have been disappointed by the Obama administration, myself included. but this election i'm very hesitant to vote for someone who isn't a major party candidate.
