http://thinkprogress.org/election/2012/ ... -children/Quote: A candidate for the Arkansas legislature, Charlie Fuqua, says children who don’t demonstrate “respect for parents” should be put to death, the Arkansas Times reports. Fuqua is a former member of the Arkansas legislature and has received support from the Arkansas Republican Party and two sitting members of Congress. Here’s the key passage from Fuqua’s 2012 book, “God’s Law: The Only Political Solution“: The maintenance of civil order in society rests on the foundation of family discipline. Therefore, a child who disrespects his parents must be permanently removed from society in a way that gives an example to all other children of the importance of respect for parents. The death penalty for rebellious children is not something to be taken lightly. The guidelines for administering the death penalty to rebellious children are given in Deut 21:18-21: But don't worry! Parents can't just shoot their children. They have to follow the "proper procedure." What parent would even WANT to do this? And he HAS support!

Well let's hope he's also pro-choice?
(Ok he's probably not.)

Goddamn Ancient Roman revivalists.
Seriously, is Arkansas one of these states where if you drink a beer while pregnant you go to jail for abusing defenseless unborn children? Because I'd love to see how the Republican party would balance these two totally reasonable perspectives. (^eyeroll^)

Also, obviously the idea of parents killing their children is extremely disturbing, but so is the idea that to raise children properly you should make it clear that you COULD kill them for transgressions. Sounds like a great way to foster a good relationship.

It's totally in the bible! He is a fine example of an upstanding, God fearing man. This is the best thing I've seen all day. And you know, there are so many child-killing parents out there that wish this law was on the books. "I told Caylee 'Stop crying, mommy's doing shots' but she just wouldn't listen." - Casey Anthony.

I didn't follow the case. Did she really say that? *eeek*
