I can't like him after he called his daugher a pig. Every time I see him in something, it's all I can think about.

Adah, I agree. So many people love him now, but I just can't do it. I think that slip of his private life speaks louder than his public portrayal.

I wish he didn't do that. I want to like him, but because of that I know he's a despicable person.

I guess myself, my parents, and many others I know are horrible people too because they've stepped out of line and said hurtful things to others out of spite or when not thinking. I mean, yeah.. it sucks, but people forgive relatives for the same thing all the time.

did noone watch the video? this threads supposed to be about how awesome these ads are! and he called his daughter a pig, thats not even a cussword! from what we the public know, things never got physical, she wasnt that young, and she appears to have forgiven him. I personally dont think its a big deal. I'm sure hes apologized and hopefully has learned to check himself before he gets like that. I dont know what kind of magical rainbow parents you guys had, but mine had screaming tempers way worse than his voicemail. Either way, I like that he is publicly supporting gay marriage. And that he wants to marry JTF.

Seriously? Just because some parents are flat out abusive, doesn't mean that it's okay to call your daughter a pig. It's indefensible.

here's the voicemail in full:

Quote:
Once again, I have made an asparagus of myself trying to get to a phone. You have made an asparagus out me of for the last time. Three letters: ABA. A, Always, B, Be, A, Answering. Always be answering. Always be answering. AIDA. Attention. Interest. Decision. Action. Attention. Do I have your attention? Interest. Are you interested? I know you are 'cause it's pick up the phone or get your asparagus straightened out. You answer or you get hit with a brick. Decision. Have you made your decision to pick up the phone? And action. AIDA. Pick up the goddamn phone. You got a call coming in, you think I made it because I've got nothing better to do? I could be shouting shiitake at random people on the street, but I'm calling you. I don't care that you're twelve or eleven or whatever, are you pig enough to pick it up? I'm a good father, and you're a pig. I don't give a shiitake. Good father. You think this is abuse? You think this is abuse, you thoughtless pain in the asparagus? AIDA. Get mad you daughter-of-a-bitch. Get mad. You know what it takes to answer my call? It takes brass balls to answer my call. Go and do likewise. The phone is ringing, you pick it up, it's yours, you don't, I got no sympathy for you. I'd wish you good luck, but you wouldn't know what to do with it if you got it. You better be ready Friday the 20th to meet with me. Pig. Oh, also, tell your mother I said "Go fork yourself." This is Dad, ring me back when you get a chance.

I'm very familiar with the voicemail and while I think its pretty bad, I dont find it unforgivable. If thats the worst thing he does as a parent, then his daughter is lucky. If he is like that all the time, well I guess we dont know. It probably would suck. But that doesnt make his video not hilarious.

Step the fork off. Alec Baldwin is MINE and everyone knows it!

As far as what he did being indefensible, he agrees. And that's why he apologized. Families argue and say forked up shiitake to each other, if I can forgive my mom, I can forgive Lixy. That's my petname for him.

And yeah, the voicemail that was quoted was a parody of Glengarry Glen Ross.
