Posted in makeup thread but I think it's worthy of it's own thread. A law is proposed that would mean animal testing would be required, at least potentially.

(all of this is also posted in the make-up thread)

That's really bad. One thing people who send in letters via opencongress or any other form letter generator should know is that the letters count a lot more if they're at all personalized/unique. So, spend 5 minutes to tweak the form letter and add your own take on the issue. I know federal regulators will count up all the letters they get pro and con on an issue and will often count identical form letters as one letter rather than thousands - I'm not sure if legislators follow the same pattern, but it can't hurt to put a little bit of effort into the letter writing just in case they do.

Here's a list of co-sponsors of the bill and when they signed on, so people in their districts should be sure to contact them about coming off the bill:

Rep Blumenauer, Earl [OR-3] - 3/21/2013
Rep Cartwright, Matt [PA-17] - 9/10/2013
Rep Chu, Judy [CA-27] - 3/21/2013
Rep Conyers, John, Jr. [MI-13] - 3/21/2013
Rep DeGette, Diana [CO-1] - 5/15/2013
Rep Ellison, Keith [MN-5] - 3/21/2013
Rep Grijalva, Raul M. [AZ-3] - 3/21/2013
Rep Hastings, Alcee L. [FL-20] - 3/21/2013
Rep Huffman, Jared [CA-2] - 3/21/2013
Rep Lee, Barbara [CA-13] - 6/4/2013
Rep Lewis, John [GA-5] - 5/15/2013
Rep Lofgren, Zoe [CA-19] - 9/10/2013
Rep Lowenthal, Alan S. [CA-47] - 3/21/2013
Rep Markey, Edward J. [MA-5] - 3/21/2013
Rep McGovern, James P. [MA-2] - 7/8/2013
Rep Michaud, Michael H. [ME-2] - 3/21/2013
Rep Moran, James P. [VA-8] - 3/21/2013
Rep Norton, Eleanor Holmes [DC] - 3/21/2013
Rep Pingree, Chellie [ME-1] - 3/21/2013
Rep Polis, Jared [CO-2] - 1/10/2014
Rep Speier, Jackie [CA-14] - 3/21/2013
Rep Tierney, John F. [MA-6] - 7/8/2013
Rep Wasserman Schultz, Debbie [FL-23] - 3/21/2013
Rep Waters, Maxine [CA-43] - 10/9/2013

I couldn't find a senate same-as bill (can anyone else?), which is probably good news for us.

This is a really big deal. I never come to the Parlor, only got here by way of the MU thread. Could this be cross(cross)posted to the Foyer? It seems relevant there as well and would garner more attention.

This is just sooo ridiculous!

This bill appears to be dead in the water already according to this

But you should still write representatives and tell them that you're against the bill and anything similar that might come later.
