This might be of most interest to those in the Boston area. A show on the local NPR affiliate about vegan eats in the area, including True Bistro in Somerville, which Desdemona and I lurve!!! [shout out to the cool PPK folks we met there a few weeks ago!!!] Anyway, the host kept gassing on about how she thought she could be vegan, but couldn't imagine a world without cheese, so I just called in with one of my vegan shticks, which is about how devoted I used to be to cheese and how I now don't miss it or think about it. Anyway, check it out if you're interested, or skip to 13:25 for my golden tones:

Wow, this reminded me both of your Canadian-ness and your dedication to dispelling the culture of radio host cheese fetishization. (Funny story, I don't think fetishization is an actual word but I hear it a lot.)

According the OED, fetishization is "the action or an instance of fetishizing," which I think is what people do to meat, cheese, and milk quite a lot of the time! Me, I fetishize farm animals (in their full-size and figurine versions), Frank Zappa, and the complete works of PG Wodehouse.

Nice job on the call! That was a really positive bit of promotion for veganism.

Your voice didn't sound like a raisin to me.
^I'm Cheezy. Ha. Ha. (But mostly just corny.)

But you did sound reasonable and calm, thus countering those pesky stereotypes of vegans being wack-job extremists. (^_^)

Thanks you guys! A minor matter, but I say previous cheese-lovers who now don't care need to be represented!
