Aw, I just had a fond memory. Thanks, Fee! Why can't they make vegan canned spaghetti-o's?

I don't know, but it drives me crazy! It'd be like the simplest thing ever, it's just cheese and you can't even taste it, just take it out for a can or five!

I still miss bacon. Back when I was a 50-pound eight-year-old kid, I'd snarf a whole pound of bacon by myself.
However, I recently tried homemade tempeh bacon(my restaurant introduction to the stuff turned me off for quite a while) and I know how to satisfy my bacon craving. Nom!

I'm not gonna lie. I loved bacon on everything when I was an omnivore. But having been vegetarian and then vegan for so many years, there is no way in hell that I would put that disgusting shiitake in my body.

i've never had bacon, but i hate the smell. my stepmom used to cook bacon in the morning, and the smell would wake me up. it didn't help that she was a terrible cook and burned a lot of it, making the smell even worse.

I guess it's good, then...I mean, if so many of us had bacon and never liked it, then we're inconvertible. Vgn4lyfe

I thought it was octopus. not that I want any octopus.

I just imagine a giant tentacled monster guarding the gateway out of the lovely land of veganism.

I dont get it though. Maybe for those 1 month long vegetarians but I may of eaten bacon as an omni years back but I've been vegan and vegetarian for so long meat just doesn't seem like a food substance any more but more like just some thing other people eat that isn't food. I've met another veggie person with the same feeling on that. I couldn't imagine a specific dish being a gateway when all dishes have the pull of memories of eating paper and glue as a child

I never had Spaghetti-Os.

Only thing I wish is that more sandwich shops would carry hummus. I miss a good sandwich.

I prefer the canned tuna. I loved tuna. Bacon's always been kind of vile to me.

yes for pig bacon - so much grease! i did have a brief love affair with turkey bacon, but i'd still rather have those smart bacon or tempeh bacon strips.

mmm yeah.. No.
The Boyfriend (who is more like a roommate at this point) is a die hard carnivore.
The smell of cooking meat always sends me scrambling for the air purifier and safety of my room.
I don't mind the "fake" vegi-bacon. It's good in a few recipes, doesn't smell like 'meat' to me, but I would never EVER consider eating dead pig again just because the smell of cooking bacon has some sort of primal connection to childhood or "comfort food".

I have had a few lapses of omnivorious eating in the past 20 years, where I've eaten seafood or even poultry, but not once have I ever considered bacon as a dietary option. The last accidental ingestion of pork (via takeout Chinese food) made me physically sick for days.

Honestly, I ate meat part way through 2010. I KNOW what bacon tastes like. It's worth is greatly exaggerated, and I don't really understand why. I hate when people pull the, "Mmmm, bacon. You don't know what you're missing." shiitake. Yes, I do. I wasn't born vegan. It's just not that wonderful...it's like the culinary equivalent of cloying floral perfume.

I don't miss bacon at all and one of my best friends is one of those people who plans events around bacon. The only thing I think I miss is creamed chipped beef and it would take huge effort to get it so I'm safe.
