I don't understand why they have to check in when they leave school and at 8pm. Those times have nothing to do with being in school. Not that I like the idea at all, but it's voluntary (well, chosen by the parents, but as a kid my parents could choose whether I could be spanked in school or not and I didn't get a choice in that).

A truant officer showed up at my house once because they never could find me at school (early/mid 1980s). I'm sure I would have been GPSed these days. And the "reminder calls" from the system that you're supposed to be at school part made me laugh. Uh...I knew where I was supposed to be. That wasn't the problem. For me. Anyhoo.
