Usually machines come with screwdrivers that do the job perfectly well, but I think the idea is to have something for small spaces where a regular screwdriver won't fit. Small, feminine spaces.

I remember my mom buying me a tool kit for women. It was pretty useful, wasn't pink though, I think it was blue. I don't think my mom was thinking that it'd be good for me due to it being 'for women' but I think it must've been on sale or something.

I had one of those too!! Also dark blue. I actually loved that tool kit, I was always the only person in my college apartment who had that stuff when we needed it, but parts of it got scattered and lost (*shakes fist at husband*) so a few years ago I bought all new tools for myself.. And actually went mostly with pink. Pretty much because this way when my husband runs off with them he at least doesn't assume they're his. (Some people require separate bank accounts, some separate TVs, we need separate tool sets. And if he touches my (red, but not for lack of looking) precision screwdriver set he is hunted down and walk of shamed back with the stolen bits.
But I wouldn't describe them as masculine or feminine, they're just effing hand tools.

I have a pink toolkit and a brownish toolkit. I already had the brown one, but I got the pink one too because I thought it looked cool. And I don't even like pink. But pink tools seemed cool.

I had an orange tool set at work that was orange, from ikea. It was perfectly handy. I shouldn't need my own set now, I have a huge garage full of tools, but I have no idea where they are in there! It was only like 8 bucks so if they still sell them I might get one and hide it from Mr Moon. My tools! Mine!

I had a woman come in once and ask for a "small tool set" because "you know, I'm just a woman." I personally love small tools but that's because they're the only ones that fit in electronics, my gender has nothing to do with it.

A lot of tools are sized for men's larger hands and heavier weights. I think there actually could be a market for tools for women, though it would have nothing to do with the color pink.

This doesn't challenge my feminism, but I know a lot of you are following the Steubenville case and its aftermath. http://createourownlight.tumblr.com/post/45684185068/steubenvilles-jane-doe-asked-people-to-do-somethinghttp://ywcawheeling.org/madden-house-donations/I guess people were offering her help to pay for legal fees, and she asked that if people wanted to donate, that they donate to the Madden House, run out of the Wheeling YWCA. They also set up a guest book where you can leave a message for Jane Doe. I don't know her at all, but she sounds like a good kid. I hope she is able to stay strong through the rest of this.

That is wonderful. I'm definitely donating.
You know, its so good that she was able to testify, see people support her, and have her family really backing her up. So many rape victims don't have that. I remember reading her testimony about how hard it was to try and figure out what had happened to her while she was unconscious and how upsetting it was. And a blogger said that if it wasn't for the attention that Anonymous and others brought to this case, she'd just be another confused rape victim trying to figure out what had happened to her, and just getting a ton of judgement about it. And its sad that people are actually using how well she is doing against her - pointing to the fact that she still plays sports and made honor roll as a sign that it wasn't that bad.
I read a piece by a woman who was gang-raped in India, and she says that the thing that made it easier for her to process everything that the rape entailed was having the support of her family. Because they didn't second guess or blame her (the police did and refused to even take a report), they just loved and supported her, and helped her heal. Everyone should have that.

I put this in the positivity thread but I don't know if anyone looks at it so I'm putting this here as well. It doesn't challenge my feminism but I thought you would all like to see it. It's pretty powerful: http://www.upworthy.com/a-very-powerful ... ves?c=mrp1

http://www.askmen.com/top_10/dating/top ... fat_1.htmlI'll admit this doesn't really challenge my feminism but its sad that there are men and women who actually do or respond to this. I was telling my boyfriend that most of these would be lost on me. Ask me to wear something I don't fit in anymore? I'd just make a fart noise with my mouth and say "yeah right, but I want to breathe tonight"

I couldn't deal with the article, but the comments are hilarious! Quote: Top 10: Subtle Ways to Tell Him He’s Getting Bald. As we all know, men are sensitive creatures. You don’t want to come out and say “You know, they have something called Rogaine.” Sometimes you need subtle ways of letting him know that his follicles are getting a little, well, subtle. Here are top 10 ways to give him the gentle hint. 10. Start wearing baseball caps yourself. 9. Shave your own head. 8. Work Sy Sperling into everyday conversations, as in, “I wonder what Sy Sperling is having for dinner.”. 7. While he’s subtly pinching your love-handles, subtly pinch his bald spot(s). 6. Spike his beer with Propecia. If he experiences low sex drive as a side effect, he’ll just figure he’s losing Testosterone and hair. 5. Plan a vacation to Jamaica and continually comment on all the gorgeous dreadlocks. 4. Tell him that your favorite fairy tale is Rapunzel. 3. Ask him to help you prepare a box for good will of things “we” no longer need, and in it put a comb and shampoo. 2. Leave “now and then” photos lying around. 1. Tell him that you’re concerned that you’re getting too fat for him and to cover your problem areas, you’d like to borrow his hair
