I have a crush on a guy. He is super sweet, cute, and - drumroll - two years younger than me (I have never gone for somebody younger than myself). He has told me he likes me too. And it absolutely forking TERRIFIES me.

I can totally relate. On the other hand, I did have a functioning relationship with someone 1 1/2 years younger than myself once. Besides, I don't think that age is much of an issue. But it's (kind of) fun to surprise oneself once in awhile. If you know what I mean. Bun wrote: Also, nice sig, Phoenix ;) Hehe. Thanks. We were talking about you in the drunk thread last night.

OH! Bun! (Do I call you that now?) WE'RE friends on facebook, right?
Anyway, crushes. There's this funny french girl that I met in my German class. We once spent a whole day trying to get back from Berlin to Kiel with trains, but kept getting forked over by delays and construction and maintenence problems. But we had a totally awesome adventure, and during one period where we had to wait for over an hour in a tiny town with ONE store open, we sat and watched the sunset, drinking beers and totally having a great time.
She's not into ladies and is kind of seeing a boy right now, but it's a totally fun easy crush for me, so whatever! (It would be nice if she was open to hooking up, but..meh)

I have a crush on my friend, who recently broke up with his girlfriend because it was an unhealthy relationship but is still in love with her. And I also have complicated feelings about my ex, whose feelings for me currently sit in the minus end of the spectrum, but at the same time won't leave me alone. I WANT TO HAVE AN UNCOMPLICATED CRUSH, PLEASE?

I feel like the difference between 21-year-old-undergrad-who's-never-been-in-the-real-world and 27-year-old-grad-student-who-has could be problematic. But I could be wrong, and that's what we'll have to find out.

But I could be wrong, and that's what we'll have to find out. That sort of thing isn't really that uncommon. I knew a few couples like that in my department. One of them is now married. Another are still together, but long distance now because she is doing a phd somewhere else, but I think that he is trying to find a job closer, else they have said they will just stick it out until she is done and then try to find jobs in the same area. I have no idea how my crush feels about me. I assume we are close to the same age; he might even be a little bit younger. He was one of my professors (not my department). I got back in touch with him this summer and then he emailed me about some computer/ipad stuff a month or so later, and after I suggested he get Scrabble so we could play he did. So we have been playing scrabble. Last time I was in town, he told me to stop by his office and say hello, so I did and we ended up talking for almost 2 hrs, until I had to go meet someone for dinner. He had several easy opportunities to cut the visit short and didn't, so presumably he enjoyed talking with me. I have zero skills at reading people or situations, so most likely, he is just friendly.

I had a crush on my (a long time ago) ex, but I haven't seen him in awhile and he's not even facebooking lately. So... out of sight, out of mind. But if he re-enters my orbit, I will happily crush on him again.

I have a crush on a guy who lives in my mom's building. Whenever I come here, I look for what I think is his car in the garage and get sad if I don't see it. I think I'm on his radar, though, because last weekend I saw him and he waved at me! Swoon. Yes, it takes that little.

I have a huge crush. He's super cute, he's really nice, he's really smart because he got a better mark than me on our bio midterm, and I got a great mark. I talked about the sleeve tattoo I want to get, of marine fish, and do you know what he said?
"I dunno, something seems fishy about that."
*siiiigh* You know that part of Bambi, when it's spring, and everyone is twitterpated? I'm like that inside.

I've heard back from professors and have meetings set up Nov 10-12, and my old roommate is letting me stay with him. So...what should I do to find out if crush has any interest? And when should I do it?
I'm sure that if I suggest coffee or something, he would since we've been friendly, so there isn't much reason why he wouldn't. But, that being the case, that doesn't get me anywhere.
This is all so complicated. I feel way too old for such silliness.
