Get ready for me loves 'cause I'm a comer!
Two weeks from this instant I will be on an aeroplane to London! Yebop! I will be there for a week to visit my boyfriend Dec. 29-Jan. 5 (leaving in morn). I think he has mostly planned every minute (mostly surprises, aww) but I told him I wanna go to Vegantown- Brighton! So I think we are going to go Sunday Jan. 2. Anyone want to meet us for lunch or something? If you can't/don't want to*, tell me where to go! Also I'm not 100% positive that I have no free time in London (especially if the boyfriend gets called into work even though he took off which is entirely possible), so maybe I could meet some of you who live there too! Also - what goes down on New Years Eve? Are there certain things we should do? We have dinner plans (I don't know where! I'm so excited!) but we are still deciding what to do after.
*If you don't want to, it's your loss, bc I can bring people American things. Like boxes of vital wheat gluten and Trader Joe's stuff...

I'd love to meet up in Brighton & I'm free Jan 2nd, yay! Is there anywhere in particular you fancy going for lunch?
Edit - I've just realised that the 2nd might not be a great day to come to Brighton, a lot of the shops / cafe's will be closed. Infinity Foods & The Infinity Cafe are going to be closed & so is Vegetarian shoes...if these places are closed chances are most of the other independent shops & little cafe's will be too. Vegetarian Shoes doesn't re-open until the 4th but Infinity (& I imagine most other places) are opening on the 3rd.

Count me in!
I'm doing my usual for NYE- nothing. I don't know how to party beyond getting drunk and putting on twelve tonnes of blue makeup.

So would Monday the 3rd be ok for others? We would have to head back to London by 4 p.m. or something but I was thinking lunch anyway. And maybe breakfast too :)

And maybe breakfast too :) You should look at booking tickets in advance, and to not travel too early. Peak fares apply so before 9 or 09:30 you'll be looking at ridiculous prices to get from London to Brighton on a weekday. Weekends peak fare times don't apply. If you book in advance and pick specific trains, you can get a return from London to Brighton for pretty cheap during the week after those hours though!

Yay I'm so excited. Think about where we should go; it's in your hands people!
Also I'm excited because my boyfriend is scared of all of you. Whenever I go to meetups or talk about PPKers he goes "INTERNET STRANGERS! INTERNET STRANGERS!" it's hilarious.

That sounds like what happened when I told Nick I was going to Berlin to meet PPKers! As for where to go here are some options, I've written about most of them on my blog if you want to check any of them out. Iydea (canteen style, veggie, usually quite a few vegan options) Infinity Cafe (all day breakfasts, veggie, jacket potatoes, healthyish) Terre a Terre (fancy, veggie, expensive & delicious) Red Veg (veggie fast food, decent vegan options but no vegan cheese) Aloka (pay by weight buffet, pretty healthy, veggie, maybe not great for a big group because they're buffet's pretty small!) Aloka Raw (raw vegan restaurant above Aloka, I've never been - it's new) Wagamamas (chain place, japanese, not veggie, decent vegan options but they have it in London) Pho (another chain place, not veggie, Vietnamese, good vegan options, also a few of these in London) Pompoko (Japanese, not veggie & only two vegan options, big bowls of rice with tofu, very cheap) WaiKikaMooKau (all veggie, decent vegan options, all day breakfasts, falafel etc)

Matwinser how exciting! Do you have any more videos of your stand up to share, by the way? You are hilarious!
Jojo thanks for the list! Just judging from what you wrote here, I'd say the most appealing options are Iydea, Infinity Cafe, Red Veg, and WaikikaMooKau. But that's obviously subject to change; I'd completely trust whatever you all have to say. Terre a Terre sounds amazing but if it's expensive it's probably not the best idea for a group. I would love to try the raw restaurant but boyfriend would never :) And I do love Wagamama but we've both been there a lot. And when I was alone in London for a few days 5-6 years ago I ate at Wagamama's every day hehehe.

I've been wanting to try the raw restaurant too but I can't convince my husband to go with me!
Terre a Terre could be possible if they have some good deals on, they sometimes do 2 courses for £15 or there's a tapas thing for two people to share with wine for £30...also the churros are amazing! But Iydea, Infinity Cafe, Waikikamookau & Red Veg are all awesome too...
What does everyone else think?

Oh hai! I know you are all sleeping now :) But tomorrow is pretty much my last shopping day so tell me if you need/want anything from the US! Trader Joe's cookies (they will probably be out of the candy cane joe joes as usual but they always have chocolate and vanilla ones! And maple leaf treats), vital wheat gluten, PEANUT CHEWS, American flags, whatever, lemme know!
