We need some more volunteers! Want to help out?

I am specifically talking about North Philly FNB (which actually has nothing to do with North Philly anymore, we cook in West Philly and serve in Center City), though I am sure West Philly FNB would welcome some help as well.

We begin cooking at 3 pm on Sundays and 5 pm on Mondays at LAVA, 4134 Lancaster Ave. There is also a food distribution at LAVA on Thursdays. Help picking up donations Thursday morning is also appreciated.

I would love to help out, but I live in Central Jersey and I don't drive. If someone could pick me up, I could pay gas and volunteer my time on Sunday's.

I didn't even know Philly had FNB! I would love to help but my work schedule would not allow it. Maybe/hopefully in the future. Good luck!

Food Not Bombs also sometimes distributes things like winter clothing that the homeless (or other needy people) can use...
We brought some homemade hats with us yesterday and there were more people who needed them than hats to give out.

So there are lots of ways to help out. Do you knit, crochet, whatever? Have blankets you don't need? Anything that can help someone keep warm (adult-size strongly preferred) would be great.

We are seriously hurting for volunteers right now. Even if you can't participate, please mention this to anyone you think might want to help out.

I am checking my schedule and making sure my husband can bring me over. I should be able to help out this Sunday or next and then some others. I will let you know!

i'll try to get to the city to volunteer when i'm back there for a couple weeks.
south philly has a FNB too, if thats more convenient for anyone. they also need volunteers.

There's a West Philly FNB that cooks on Wednesdays.
South Philly FNB is new so I don't know when/where they do their thing yet.
