sorry for the crappy pictures, it's just too dark to take decent pictures.

chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream frosting. because of all the melted chocolate, the frosting got stiff very quickly. it was quite hard to spread, so things looked a bit, um, rustic. i covered the ugliness with chocolate shavings and pecans.

cranberry walnut thumbprints vom VCIYCJ
i used lingonberry jam/sauce instead of cranberry since cranberries are hard to find in europe. i also happened to have lots of pecans and no walnuts, so i used those.
those are great! i never had such a crispy cookie (well, except for biscotti).

and something old. when we still had sunlight..

roasted potatoes and purple carrots. sauteed leek and smoked tofu with soy cream. yum.
