It's kind of sad that they don't actually know any black people in Oakland that could be in their little video and all their 'black people' footage is shot from their Ford Taurus.

We will pretend I am still there.. I need to keep up on the Bay Area stuffs.

I have a thing for the DJ Shadow compiled Hyphy compilation.

Oakland will always be centered around Chinatown for me... My grandparents lived super close to Chinatown, and on our way home from visiting the grandparents, my family and I would always eat Chinese food. I'd watch and be amazed at the huge crowds of people walk (LEGALLY) diagonally across the street. That was the best.

But when my mom took me to bring-your-daughter-to-work-day in the Financial District, I REALLY wanted to move there because the people who crossed the streets diagonally there were dressed all "classy" (meaning women in skirt suits, dark pantyhose, and jogging shoes). I wanted to be just like that.
