I want to start a thread to track my exercising and goals, and I thought it would be good for everyone to track theirs too! We can also exchange ideas and ask questions about different exercises, as well as keep each other motivated.
My long term goals for now: To lose about 20 lbs slowly through exercising and eating less, but enough to not have to suffer. I'd like to reach my goal by June at the latest. For right now I am doing mostly cardio to lose some fat. I always have a decent amount of muscle naturally. Another goal is to reduce the pain of my runners knee. I'm thinking losing some weight will help, plus building muscle in that area for more support of the joint.
Short term goals: To do some type of exercise every day in January. Hopefully by February I will feel so good, that I'll just keep on going!
So far today I have not worked out, but I plan on taking my dog for a longish walk, and taking an hour step-class this evening. You?

I ran 2.2 miles. One of my calf muscles is sore and tight after so I might have to take tomorrow off and only do weights or something =/

I'll play. The more places I speak about my levels the better I will do, right? Right!
Tuesday and yesterday I did the "Skinny bisque Bootcamp" which consist of a 5 min warm up, 25 min bootcamp, 10 min abs (i didn't do this part) and 5 min cool down. I plan to do it again on Saturday.
I am aiming for 3 circuit training sessions a week and 3 30 min walks on my treadmill. I have to build up to that though. It's been a while since I have worked out, so I am rebuilding my endurance.
I am cooking food from Appetite for Reduction and only snacking on hummus, nuts, veggies, and the occasional piece of dark chocolate to cure the sweet cravings. Not depriving myself of anything!
My goal is to lose the last of my unwanted weight, about 90 pounds. I have no date set, but this calendar year would be nice.
I am also using Sparkpeople to track my food and fitness. And I have two friends and a co-worker that I am checking in with too.

I'm planning on going to a 90 minute hot yoga class later on today, yay! Also, maybe a few strength training exercises.

I checked out my new apartment's gym for the first time today and did a half hour on the stationary bicycle (since they don't have an elliptical). :>

did about a half hour of upper body weights and ab exercises followed by 15 minutes of intervals on the stationary bike. I just got New Rules of Lifting for Women though and am in the process of designing a whole new weight workout so I'm a bit confused right now.

I was too sore from the workout class I took yesterday to do a serious workout today, but I ended up running around half of Baltimore with a friend, so I managed to get a lot of walking in.

i shoveled the sidewalks for our corner lot house, and did about a fourth of the driveway. I am really sucking at exercising, so i am going to count it.

Snow=heavy, so you probably did at least 20 minutes of weight lifting. You just wanted to focus on your arms and back more today.

Well yesterday all I did was a 20 minute walk with my dog. Today I probably won't be able to work out at all. My husband's sister died new years, and today is the memorial service :( Blah.

Today's going to be my typical home workout of pushups, pullups/chinups, ab-wheel and arm stuff with the resistance band.

I played 45 minutes of raquetball by myself and used the elliptical machine for 20 minutes yesterday. I did Body Pump this morning.

First, let me say, I LOVE THIS THREAD! (Sorry for the caps.)I'm not a trainer by any means, but the trainer I've been working with off and on has me doing a lot of "glute activation" to keep everything in line and relieve pressure on my knees. We really focus on the gluteus minimus muscle and the gluteus medius and not just the gluteus maximus. One of the things that we do that I love/hate are a kind of squat sideways band walk. I put a large exercise rubber band around my ankles, squat, and side step making sure to keep my toes straight. Also squats while leaning against one of those big exericise balls. (Again, I'm no trainer, for correct form I'd talk with someone professional, or not, but be careful!) It's really fresh in my mind, because I met with him during lunch! Now instead of doing work, I want to work out more! I get such an endorphin rush, I love it. I do something every week day, but I really want to start getting off my asparagus on the weekends and do something those days, too, even if it's just take a walk around the neighborhood. I've lost around 20 pounds, but I still have about 20 to go, so I'm trying to keep myself revved up. Thanks for starting this thread!!

2.5 mile run after work. My group of friends is running a 10K together in April and we're trying to get in shape for it together.
