Kouzzina at WDW Boardwalk: gigantes beans, pita and hummus, brussels sprouts with lemon and caper, field greens with garlic, and garlic roasted potatoes Chef TJ - awesome chef who I finally caught up with at 1900 Park Fare. He created a five course vegan meal for us! First Course: spring rolls, and a kind of curried hummus. Yum! Second Course: soba noodle salad with seaweed and spicy roasted pineapple! Third Course: veggie salad in nori cup with cashews Fourth Course: tofu with veggies and fried cellophane noodles Fifth Course: tower of vegan yum (hubby in background for scale!) Tofutti ice creams with Divvies caramel corn, a Divvie cookie ice cream sandwich, more Tofutti with Divvies jellybeans (I didn't have the heart to tell him these weren't vegan) and pineapple and banana, strawberry coulis, all topped with a generous helping of chocolate syrup! Breakfast at Kona Cafe at the Polynesian Resort: Vegan Mickey waffles with Earth Balance and Maple Syrup, roasted potatoes and fruit.

Chef TJ's vegan menu doesn't appear to have changed much, even though he switched restaurants (again). That makes me happy! I was served a very similar meal at Ohana last year, and it was so good.
Looks like you did pretty well at Kouzzina, too! Their menu looked so unvegan that I never bothered to try it.

Tofulish wrote: That looks amazing! And congratulations on your marathon! <3 Thanks, Tofulish! Son of Seitan: would you believe it was the exact same price as the buffet? $36 not including tax and gratuity and we got a freshly prepared meal rather than the stuff that was sitting out on the buffet tables. Not that the stuff sitting out was bad - the rest of my party really enjoyed their meal, too! ashley: Kouzzina is pretty good for vegans. They bring out 2 kinds of olive oil and olives with the bread (which is egg and dairy free) and in addition to the platter that I had, they do an orzo pasta dish with roasted veggies that you can have without the cheese, and the escarole and white bean soup is also vegan.

Kouzzina was my favorite restaurant when I visited DW in November. Did you try the kalamata fig spread? It was to die for.

I now have to find a partner to go stalk this Chef TJ XD My dad is going to disney world next month (I can't tell you how sad I am that I'm not going), I'll tell him to check it out.

Chef TJ!!!! I love him so much. We had nearly the same meal from him back at Boma (best meal of our lives)... except he still did the deep-fried oreos back then. SIGH. I'm happy to know where he is now. We will be at Disney in March and must find him.

Sources say he works from Sunday to Thursday (Off Fri and Sat) but double check before you go just in case. berry8530 - yes, Kouzzina is Cat Cora's place :)

You may melt, though. We've been in the summer and it's freaking HOT! If you stay on Disney property, try to take a pool/cocktail break at the hotel during the hottest parts of the day and you should be okay. And: you can always cool off with some Tofutti or Rice Dream at the ice cream parlor on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom :D

We went during a heat wave at the beginning of May last year and it was horrendous. Spent a lot of time under those misting water things. Go to Epcot on the hottest day! Lots of indoor stuff Livi will love and air conditioning that will keep you alive. We also would "take breaks" on cooler rides every so often (like it's a small world!) and drank lots of frozen lemonade.

My dad used to take me in the summer and I did a lot of puking from dehydration. Livi doesn't handle heat great either, neither does the husband. I'm not really certain he's planning this out well! Great advice ladies - thanks!!!
