Hart Hanson (show creator) has promised they'll hook up. Someday.

I've been watching Season 1 on Netflix but knowing that Bones and Booth still haven't hooked up makes me not want to invest time in the series. Do you think it's going to happen at some point? Cuz my heart is already breaking and I'm only 16ish episodes in.

I think it will happen.
However, I don't think it will happen until the last episode, or last couple episodes of the series, because if booth and bones hooked up it would change the entire dynamic of the show.

I agree. Though it's possible that they'll do it House-style - hook-up but not focus on it after the first or second episode of them together.

That's the only way I've ever seen it successfully done. I think shows really go downhill when any one romantic relationship is the primary focus.

Yeah, as soon as they lose the sexual tension it can be really difficult to maintain interest. I'm about to quit watching Chuck because it's gotten so boring and predictable this season.

Was it explicitly promised that
Spoiler: show
it not be in a comatose dream sequence? Because technically they were together in that.

Grey's Anatomy spoiler:
Spoiler: show
I actually like Grey's Anatomy for letting MerDer finally hook up and get married and shows them happy.
I don't think there has to be crazy tension about will they or won't they - its just lazy writing, because its a trope. Much more interesting to see (tangentially) a couple navigating their relationship.

It works really well with Angela and Hodgins. I think them together as a strong and loving couple is way more interesting than the flighty "together/apart/he wants more/she runs away" dance.

I'd like to see Hannah get resolved without drama, and have B&B get to be that couple as well. The key might be not to focus on them as a couple, but throw in some cute interactions for us.

Yeah it is!

Also, I thought I posted in this thread tonight - does that mean I didn't or I posted in the wrong thread? Hmm.

My thoughts exactly! Plus, Caroline! And Booth in a t-shirt. Yum.

I can't wait for next week.

Booth was extra hot today. Especially when he was looking out the window at the end. <3

Aww, and Bones when Max was asking her about Booth. "I don't want to talk about it."

Also, Wendell is still my favorite intern.

The head exploding into a puff of blood just didn't look realistic to me (and normally Bones is completely grossly accurate seeming). The remaining chunks of skull looked too big to be from that kind of complete explosion. But, I'm no expert...

The prostitute in the potash was truly foul. I'm with Bones, flesh is gross.

Booth is one of the top snipers in the world and he couldn't have shot the dude in the leg or something to stop him?

But cute ending! And I loved Booth when he said, "I don't need a warrant. This land belongs to Sealy Booth." I don't know why, but something about it was super sexy.

And I just know Hart Hanson is out to destroy me with the line from next week's preview. I can no longer hold out hope that I means what I want it to mean.

I thought the same thing. Shoot him in the leg! Geez. Also thought the same thing when he said "This land belongs to Seely Booth." Damn, that was hot.

I'm afraid to hope regarding next week. I feel like it has to mean one thing, but I'm sure it will mean the other, since Hart Hanson is the devil.

Yes, yes, and yes. Though I actually thought the knee, but close enough.

His hottest moment was still the way he gazed out the window at the end. I'm so glad that man has dramatically upped his acting skill and overall hotness over the years. <3

Oh god, can you imagine season 1 Buffy-era David Boreanaz on Bones? I love Angel, but he was so bad. Thankfully he has improved greatly in both ability and severe hotness.

It'd be sooooooooooo bad! They wouldn't have cast him. And a +1 yummy for the ability and hotness!
