I just found out that most condoms are made with casein and are not vegan. I'm majorly bummed out right now. So far as I can see, Glyde is an Australian(?) brand that's vegan, but what about my Canadian asparagus?
I say we start a list of vegan friendly condoms we can find in our areas. This is important business.

They sell some on vegan essentials. I've never seen those Glyde ones here either.

here's a list from the vegan society: http://www.vegansociety.com/healthcare/ ... tives.aspxyou should be able to get glyde just about anywhere. i don't see why you wouldn't be able to get them in canada. if you google vegan condoms, tons of things come up.

you can get Glyde from Karmavore out thissa way. I'm sure Your Local Vegan Store™ would have the hookups too.. or otherwise, Karmavore can ship some your way!

Finally, an ethical reason to not use them.

I order Glydes through Foodfight
they are the best ones out there
I have not tried the Durex but the Trojan Polyurethane ones feel like youre forking with a dishwashing glove on. I used one and pretty much passed on sex with the others because it was so lame

Glyde, baby. Glyyyyyyyyde. And they're definitely available in Canada. All I did was google "canada vegan condoms" and BAM! ComeAsYouAre.comand ecosex.caFor when you can't find them at a brick&mortar store nearby.

hmmm.
Me and the bf are SUPER ridiculous about birth control. We never ...evar...want kids.
Anyhow, I'm on the pill and we use condoms. But, once we found a brand we liked, (trojan, magnum ecstacy.) we will most likely never change.
This is really just NOT something I'd be willing to compromise on.
We've been together for 16 years and have never had sex without a condom, my friends think we're insane, bf said he'd never want to cuz he is super anti baby as well. Anyhow, we've never had one break during sex before. If anyone else is stupid like me and wants to use what they always use out of sheer paranoia, and that brand happens to be trojan, I noticed that they make ecstacy is regular size as well. ha, I had a friend tell me that the ecstacy was closest to feeling like not using one. Honestly even I noticed a difference, there was ...friction? I dunno the word, it's great. ha.

Has anyone heard anything about Glyde selling in stores? Just wondering, not that the variety of choices on the market isn't confusing enough. veganstephen wrote: Finally, an ethical reason to not use them. Except, you know, using non-vegan condoms is way more ethical than having a baby.

They sell Glyde at a few adult stores here in San Francisco. I've also seen them at the co-op I shop at, and the health store that's near my old apartment, so they're definitely being sold in some brick&mortar stores.

Ah I also just had to start dealing with this issue. The bf and I have been using Trojan Magnums and I can't justify having casein up my vagina. Last year some time I found a company called Fusion Condom based out of the UK that claim to be vegan but they don't distribute to the US. When I emailed them asking about where to buy them they sent me about 50 free condoms out of sympathy I supposed since I can't buy them. They only had "Regular" size but they did come in plain and also flavors. Either way I can't use that company due to not having a larger size. I just did my research on Glyde Condoms and I read that they run a bit small and some people even said the Maxi (the "roomier" size) is probably what a regular size Trojan condom size is similar to. I ordered them anyway off of VeganEssencials ($9.95 for a 12 pack with $6.00 s/h) so I will get back to you ladies and gentlemen who luckily also need a Magnum sized vegan condom! http://store.veganessentials.com/glyde-vegan-condoms-p1105.aspxThere is also Sr. Richard's condoms. They are a new company, vegan and they donate condom for condom to countries in need of birth and disease control. My only issue is they are more expensive, I think they were ~ $13.00 for a 12 pack. They also have an extra large size. I'm gonna try these out after the Glyde ones are done. http://sirrichards.com/
