So much soreness right now. I can't even pinpoint where it's all coming from.

Man, did I come to the right place! The outside of my booty is killing from squads last night during club strength. We didn't do as much with arms (or I didn't use as much weight) because I'm not feeling it there as much. (I think club strength is a bit like Body Pump, but I'm not sure; a variety of weight training/push-ups/planks/squats/lunges.

Hooray for all the foam roller use! I love the foam roller. I've worked with a trainer a handfull of times, and he recommends using the foam roller as a pre-workout stretch, then muscle activation, (a bunch of band-walks, ugh!!), and then doing a standard stretch post work out when your muscles are hot.

Don't worry about looking silly on the foam roller--it's so good! I also like to 'sit' on the spot that hurts for a while to kind of let that bit loosen up.

Has anyone used tune-up balls? I think they're a bit like using a tennis ball as someone mentioned, but I think the texture is a little harder or something.

Yea! Workouts!

We use lacrosse balls at our gym and I bought some for home. They are good. Smooth and hard.

Thanks, linanil! I might check that out. I work across the street from a sporting goods store, so I might just see what's cheapest. I want to get some bands, too, as I feel like I should be doing some of the band walks and leg lifts with bands and whatnot on my own so I'm not killing myself when I work out with the trainer.

*I feel like an asparagus saying that I work out with a trainer. He's a really good guy though (keeps talking to me about kin-O-A [quinoa]). I'm hoping my W-2 comes in so I can file my income taxes, hopefully get a rebate, and buy more sessions.

Everything is sore, and I'm tired. That's all.

My whole body hurts pretty much from body pump last night, I haven't been in ages. Especially sore are my thighs and shoulders.

Has anyone tried a tiger tail? OpenSky has one for sale for $20, and I'm thinking about getting it.

My triceps are so sore that I almost started crying today. Well, coupled with the fact I had a bad day in general that set me off, but then I noticed while I was mulling over some bad news how friggin much my triceps ached on top of it and I felt like crying then. I just started my 90 minute Wednesday night yoga class again this week (was on hiatus from December until now) and it kicked my asparagus. Anyone who tells you yoga is kitten exercise--it's not true! Never has a form of exercise kicked my asparagus harder than a good yoga session although when yoga kicks your asparagus I think that actually means you've gone too far. Well, it's been over a month and I wanted to get a good session in...

It'll get better, I know. My whole body aches all over with muscle pain but triceps especially. Just rubbing my nose, lifting my drink to my mouth, all day, I've had to brace myself. Argh!

The sidewalks are so damn treacherous right now that I'm sore from having to keep my whole body tense and trying not to fall every couple feet.

Hahaha! I went to look this up and- woah- there is a gentlemen's club in a town a couple hours from here called that. But anyway, I've seen the trainers at the gym use those on clients, specifically, one of the sports drill trainers who works with high school teams in the area. They look even more painful than the foam rollers. I know a girl who uses her rolling pin instead of a foam roller, though, so I guess it's the same idea. I'd use a rolling pin and save $20!

My back is killing me (not the "oh no, I pulled something!" kind of hurt, but the "woah, I worked my back muscles" kind of hurt), but less today than it was on Thursday. I do the same strength training workout on Wednesdays and Fridays. Calves, triceps, inner thighs... I just wish my gluteal region hurt more from all of my squat/lunge work.

I put my backpacking pack on yesterday with some light weight and hiked about 5.5 miles. I can run 6-8 miles and feel fine the next day. I'm rethinking my decision to thru-hike the AT next year.

Ha! I didn't even think of that. I did go in to a running store and ask for a tiger tale though, and they looked at my strangely. They're like, um, what's it like? So I say, um, like a stick that you roll on your body? And the confusion clears and they're like, OH, you want THE STICK!

Yep, so there's another one called a stick. I use a kombucha bottle for a rolling pin, so I'm not sure how well I'd manage with that, but it's a great idea. I think the ladies in the running store compared it to a rolling pin for muscles.
