I can't even deal with how tiny that kitten is. She's not even the width of Ellie's leg!

so here is an interesting question, is dog milk suitable for kittens? I would think not and would think the kitten would need to be supplemented. That is crazy.

Why would you think not? I'm guessing the milk that people feed kittens that are no longer with their mothers isn't cat milk...

For some reason, I would think kitten formula would be formulated for the needs of a kitten. Cats and dogs aren't similar species so I'd think that there might be some nutrients that would be required that a dog may not be able to provide? I don't know, maybe its similar enough in that it is milk, it has nutrients, fat, etc.

I don't think that they're just relying on Ellie's milk for the kitten. Or at least they didn't say that, just that she started lactating and the kitten was drinking the milk. They said the vets were baffled, so it's at least being taken to the vet so if it needs something they have vets on the case.

I think I read that she is taking supplements or formula of some kind from the vet in addition to Ellie's milk, so I'm sure she's getting everything she needs.

yeah that is what I figured in that she'd need to be supplemented but I didn't see that. I can't see either of my pups doing this so I'm a bit jealous. Although my dogs love cats, they think the cats are there to play with them and the cats think differently.
