I just got it a couple of days ago and I already really like it! I made the Macadamia Brie and the Creamy Butternut Pasta bake (the latter I haven't yet tasted, but I'm bringing it to a potluck tonight). It's a really nice-looking book with cute illustrations. I think I might buy my mom a copy, since she'd rather veganize her old recipes (there is lots of info on that) than own a ton of vegan cookbooks. Yay Celine & Joni!

My tester copy came today and it was spotted at my local independent bookstore. It has pig drawings on the cover. Win.

I picked up a copy on Tuesday and have been reading it when I commute to work in the morning. I'm excited to try some of the seitan and cheese recipes, they sound so good, I can't decide what to make first. vijita - How did the pasta bake and brie turn out?

The Brie was good, maybe a bit sweet for my tastes because I forgot that Brie is supposed to have a natural sweetness to it. The pasta bake was...okay. The chipotle in the sauce overwhelmed all the other flavors, and I was a bit weirded out by all the vegan mayo in the sauce. BUT I still have high hopes for this book. I was making recipes that I thought would appeal to others instead of stuff that I knew I'd love, so I have to try more stuff! Esp. since I know that I heart Joni/Celine recipes. Oh, I made the walnut parmesan about a million times over xmas. There is no excuse to buy Parma ever again!

I made the Salisbury Steaks and the Onion Sage Gravy. The husband said I should have made a double batch of the steaks so I guess that's a win.

Glad to hear - I just picked this one up a couple weeks ago. I'm excited about making the hot dog seitan sausage recipe, I think I'm going to try doing smoked cocktail sausages from it and reviving my mom's old hors d'oeuvres standby - cocktail sausages in a mustard-currant jelly sauce. (I know the jelly-mustard combo sounds weird, but it's delicious, haters)
I just got a fondue pot too so the fondue recipe will get made, although I'll need to do some alcohol substitutions. Is giving a pregnant vegan a fondue pot for Christmas cruel, or the mother of invention?
Really, lots of good looking things in here. It wasn't quite what I was expecting - I was hoping for a more concise guide to recipe conversion that I could give to, say, my MIL who's been asking about vegan cooking. I think she might be getting "Supermarket Vegan" instead. But it's got lots of great stuff I can use!

I tested those hot dogs and they were good! I really need to make the salisbury steak recipe. That and the pepperoni pizza jumped out at me when I was looking through it. I tested the pepperoni too and it was tasty. And SSD made pepperoni pretzels with it that were forking amazing.

I don't have enough money but I just bought this. I'm getting a bit more adventurous with my vegan cooking and have been looking at non-vegan books for ideas so I want to become an expert in veganising everything! And I love Celine's blog.

I don't have mine in front of me so I'll probably have to add to this later but the things I loved in testing:
Potato wedges, seriously, make them now Provencale Socca Eggs Benedict - we had this for breakfast on Christmas day, that's how much I love it Nutty Pepperjack cheese - this is the only block cheese I've made that I could eat in a sandwich Puff pastry danishes Hot dogs - then turned into corn dogs Carrot ginger burgers - I was suspicious of these but I really liked them and they keep in the freezer for ever Papet Vaudois Bacon Cheeseburger Red Buffalo salad - a great use for that silken tofu knocking around
There are lots of other things I liked, including potoato chutney, salisbury steaks, toffalo wings, very eggy salad, curried tofu salad and more, but the above list I loved.

Made the cranberry walnut chocolate chip bread into muffins and they were great. Didn't think all those flavors would go together, especially with coffee as the liquid, but it worked!

I've been all over the look inside preview for this book, it looks so amazing...but I'm not in love with 500 Vegan Recipes, so I'm hesitant. I think the smaller, more manageable size of this book may work better for me though.

I made the carrot ginger burgers last night and all though the flavor was good the texture didn't turn out at all, they were all mushy and stringy. Any thoughts on what I did wrong? Would this be caused by overkneading?

I made the tempeh sea sandwich mix today and it is good. I had no sunflower seeds but added some leftover Daiya and grilled it. Delightful.

I've only made the Pumpkin Bisque and Surf & Turf Salad so far but they were both super easy and very scrummy. Not only are the recipes and substitution guides great in this book but it's so beautifully put together. The font/layout/size/pics! I've been reading it in bed :)

I used the TVP pepperoni from this book and some Daiya to make a pizza. It was awesome! A lot like the Tofurkey pepperoni pizza but cheaper and tastier.
