I'm looking at getting some snow shoes. I'm considering MSR for their tail attachments but I'm still undecided. Does anyone have any snow shoes experience and recommendations for gear? I've no idea what I'll do for poles.

i love snowshoeing! i just do it when i visit my dad though, and i borrow my stepmom's old ones. my only possibly helpful thing is that i prefer not using poles. i do better when i can be more flexible with my body.

When I snowshoe, I use ski poles.. I also use the same ski poles for backpacking in the summer!! You don't need anything fancy, some used or beat up poles work well! Snowshoeing is so much fun! I love it

Snowshoeing is a blast. I spent the last couple of winters in Minnesota for work, so I would rent them a lot from REI. I believe my rentals were MSRs, but I don't know enough about the options/brands out there to help you out. Sorry. I would recommend going into an REI or similar place and telling them what you're looking for, they'll be the best to get you what you need.

I don't really like poles either.
Snowshoeing is awesome! It's totally one of those exercise methods that doesn't at all feel like exercise. I miss living near more snow!
Sorry, I only have enthusiasm, rather than tips!
