Some of you may remember my total mental breakdown last year when I became pregnant unexpectedly. Well, here I am again. I was on birth control, and still. The situation this time around is so, so much worse. I am currently in a bad place in relation to the father. I have a crazy stalker and I've just lost two of the most important women in my life. I really feel like I am going to go insane.

This time around I found out early enough that I will not require the surgical procedure as I did the first time. So, I'd like to hear from women who have used the pill. PM me if you are more comfortable with it. Thank you.

No pill experience to talk about, but I wanted to post and say I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Hang in there.

Hi Una, I'm sorry you're going through this. I don't have experience with abortion or plan B, but I did have an early miscarriage once when I didn't even know I was pregnant, which made me feel sort of weird and sad even though I don't want/plan on having children. I'm sharing that because my feelings were different than what I expected they'd be in the situation, and I think a lot of women run into that, no matter what choices they make- and that's okay.
When you're say you're taking the pill, do you mean that you're going through a medical abortion- the two pill process? I've researched that a bit when my period was wayyyy late, and there were a few threads on the old boards... what I gleaned was that you take the first pill at the doctors office, then someone should drive you home and stay with you while you take the second pill. You're going to have discomfort and bleeding. If you don't successfully induce a miscarriage, you'll need to go back for the surgical abortion. But overall from what I've read, the success and safety rate is high, just stock up on some comforting food and rent some movies and plan on relaxing for a few days.
I'm sorry I can't tell you anything from personal experience, but when I thought I might need a medical abortion, the information I found made me feel like it was a good thing for me. I hope it is a good thing for you, too.

Hi Una, I too do not have any experience with abortion, but I recently read a wonderful write-up at Jezebel about what one can expect during different kinds of abortions. It's surprisingly informative and non-judgmental, coming from Jezebel, and a lot of women shared their experiences with the process in the comments section.

I used RU486, and I really liked the ease and privacy it gave me in a very stressful time. My termination was at 12 weeks, and it was still not bad at all. I liked it a lot better than a surgical abortion, and was glad I had that as an option. The whole situation is what makes this so hard. I DO want more children, someday. My life is in such a terrific mess right now... I just want to fall asleep and have this be a bad dream.

I have had a surgical abortion and a miscarriage at 12 weeks. I have no experience with the pill, but I am assuming it is a medical induced abortion, along the lines of a natural misscarriage. If I had to go through that again, I would opt for the surgical procedure, as the miscarriage was terribly painful and ended in me going to emergency. I hope you figure out what will work best for you and do enjoy your date with tofulish. It will be really good to have a someone to talk to/cope with in person.
