Is there some way we can get an option for which sex you are in your profile? I haven't been around long enough to know these things about people and I hate getting it wrong.
Apart from that, everything's been great today. Thanks for all the hard work! /suckingup

I don't think it's necesserily as easy as male/female/other/neither, I also don't think it's really necessary to know what gender someone is whilst interacting on the Internet. If you feel you're interacting with someone on a level where you feel you need / want to know maybe you could ask? I don't think that would offend anyone.

Yeah, plus I imagine most of us wouldn't fill that part out. I don't usually when a site asks.

Well, to explain: I wanted to tell someone "You are one clever man" and then I realised I didn't know if it was a man or a woman, so I didn't post it. I'm trying to post more, but I'm an insecure fork and I can't make an error like calling a man a woman and not have to worry about it.
I agree it doesn't matter either way - it's not like it would change my sense of liking for someone, I just hate making mistakes.

I understand where you're coming from, maybe in that situation you could find a non gender specific way to say someone's smart like 'you're one smart cookie' or 'damn you're smart'

Say something like "You are a clever one"
I don't think anyone gets offended by those mistakes, and I think everyone makes them. I automatically assume everyone here is an owl until proven otherwise.

I'm going to start addressing everyone as kitten. "You make a good point, kitten, but..."

I agree it doesn't matter either way - it's not like it would change my sense of liking for someone, I just hate making mistakes. Honestly, if someone complimented me and called me the wrong gender I would find it hilarious.

I would actually like this kind of option to be avaliable. Obviously no one would have to pick, there could be a leave it blank option for sure. But as one of those rare male types on this board it would be nice if at some point people would stop using 'she' as the default pronoun for me.

Everyone could pick one word (gender-specific or not) and then just call everybody that. Then we could come back here and talk about the reactions everyone got. I could just call everyone "sister" and see who will explode first.

This is confusing. Owls aren't mammals.

Comrade Owl, I hear you not a mammal!?
Can we please have a space on the profiles where we can indicate if we are mammals or not?
