Why NE Scotland?? Well Further south seem to have it covered but living in Aberdeen...beef and oil capital of the UK, I feel awful lonely.... only vegan in the village :P
So any one north of Dundee about??

Awww. Good luck with that! I think we've got Embra, Glasgow and one lonely Fifer in the mix so far. Maybe there are some lurkers though. How is Aberdeen for vegan options? I'm guessing not the best. Come join us in the UK thread :)

Hows Aberdeen for vegans? shiitake really:P Not a single veggie restaurant in what is meant to be a multicultural hub of a city, only found ONE cafe that even has a vegan option, and that was only a hummus sarnie and soya milk for my tea :P
I'm lucky enough to have a great whole food/veggie grocers @ 15 miles from me (in Inverurie **The "Green" Grocer** no website alas) where I can get goodies like vegan hotdogs and smoked tofu but that seems to be it for the whole of Aberdeenshire.

Have thought about moving but kind of feel like sentinels here ;)

Go to YO!Sushi! They have vegan options, they're pretty cheap, and they're really good! Mike's family live in Aberdeenshire, so we always hit YO! when we're there. I don't think the Aberdeen location has veggie gyoza, but they have tempura, a couple of rolls, a couple of salads, vegetable firecracker rice, vegetable yakisoba, and all-you-can-eat miso. (I could be wrong - they might have gyoza but not tempura. Edinburgh doesn't have tempura.)

Never been to YO! but sure I can plant the seed in husbands head and make a trip there next time we brave it into town :D

In Yo Sushi you just need to remember to ask them not to rub their gloves with mayo when making the sushi, they do it so it rolls easier but they're happy to use oil instead if you're vegan.

You also have a Wagamamas in Aberdeen right? They have about 4 or 5 good vegan options.
