Stuff from last week. They're all vintage dresses from Etsy; shoes from F21, Converse, and Modcloth; tights from Target (the middle one is slightly sheer red, NOT shiny hot pink as one of my friends thought in the picture); lace cardigan from F21 (I ended up buttoning it up and ditching the belt, which looked much better); black lace cropped jacket from YesStyle.

I lied. I wore my dress today, but I just took it off to change back into what I always wear.. so like, half a day..

Erinnerung - It's by a small brand in the US called Thick As Thieves. Unfortunately I think he's sold out in all his jumpers as he only did a limited run and I got it a few years ago.

How much are you looking to spend? I have a load of Topman jumpers that aren't the best quality but for work are fine and they fit me really well (they do loads of different colours and are only 20 pounds). I find that good quality cotton jumpers are hard to track down.

skinny jeans look so good on everyone else (here). I finally tried some on yesterday (several pair), and it was a noooooo.

That's ok, they're a definite "NO THANKS, OMG" for me, too.

This probably isn't much help since you are in NZ, but for cotton sweaters, I love finding the classic Ralph Lauren sweaters in outlets. There are usually 3-4 different styles of cotton sweaters. Last year when my classroom was painfully freezing, I got 4 for ~$125 (vs $80+ each). They usually seem to have a much better selection of men's sweaters though--TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Lauren outlet.

There is a style of skinny jeans for almost everybody! You just need to find the right rise (too low and your hips are dramatically emphasized; too high and other problems may be revealed) and maybe ones that are slightly less skinny at the ankles.You want a skinny straight leg fit, not skin tight or tapered. If you have hips, stay away from junior brands and Old Navy, American Eagle etc because they are probably not going to be flattering.

Sometimes "skinny fit" is a style that is looser in the thighs and seat. I had a pair of Levis like this, but they were so stretch that after one wearing, the size 4 would literally fall off me (I was wearing a 6 then!). My favorite pair was a black wash DKNY skinny fit; the DKNY jeans seems to often have a bit more room in the hips so they usually work well for me. They don't seem to go on sale as often as others though.

Thanks for the suggestions but unfortunately I am a skinny bugger who swims in most clothes. Ralph Lauren is cut very classically and a small is way too big on me and I've yet to see them do an XS. I do miss TJ(TK) Maxx though, so many good deals. Shopping over here is rubbish, I end up buying most stuff online or in Aus...sigh.

The perils of us skinny guys. It's especially tough considering we like our clothes fitted.
