I need some mascara suggestions.

For the past few years, I've been using Ecco Bella. I liked that it was ranked well on the EWG list and it was relatively well-priced. I've also tried mascara from Sugarcoat, which was the worst I'd ever used and took forever to dry. I mean, I would sneeze half an hour after applying it and it would smudge all over.

Thing is, I'm falling out of love with Ecco Bella. It flakes and smudges by the end of the day, and I have resorted to going bare-eyed.

Any suggestions for mascara that doesn't have a horrifying list of ingredients and washes off fairly easily?

My favorite mascara is from a British brand called Barry M:
http://www.barrym.com/3-in-1-mascara
It's vegan, but the ingredients aren't listed on the packaging or on the website.

(Also: <3 to Interrobang?! for sending me another tube after I'd run out!)

Tarte's 4-day stay - does stay put. It is really natural looking and glossy!

I use Tarte. I really like it and I don't find it that difficult to remove. I just use a bit of oil or moisturizer on a cotton pad and then wash my face with soap or cleanser.

I am looking for a waterproof mascara to wear when I ride my bike on rainy/foggy/humid days. I would remove it in the evening before bed, so I don't care how many days it lasts. I just want it to stand up in the wet weather.
I read a few reviews and would like to ask you gals:
Does this mascara give texture or length to your lashes, or does it just darken them like a stain?
Does it stay tacky in humid weather?

Thanks! Looks like the Barry M stuff is tougher to get in Canada - shipping and all that crepe - but the Tarte you can get at Sephora?

Neither shows up in the EWG's Skin Deep database. Not that I'm basing everything on that - but it just gives some kind of reassurance that you're not poisoning yourself through your eyes, you know?

I meant Suncoat. In all fairness, it's for really sensitive eyes. And their liquid liner is good. I just think the mascara is shiitake.

Good to know! I almost paid $14 for it from Karmavore.

I really love the Barry M 3-in-1 mascara Bun mentioned- it stays on all day without smudging and as far as makeup goes the ingredient list isn't awful. I am happy to swap for it, just PM me if you need to be hooked up.

Oh I am so glad this thread exists! My mascara for my 1980s party was all over my face when I got home and there was no crying or sweating involved.

I know the ingredient list is not simple but I like E.L.F.'s Waterproof Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara. I was using Tarte's for a few months but it was not dramatic enough for me. My favorite mascara by Millani is a bisque to find since the line is no longer at Walgreens. I still think Tarte's is great for a natural product but for the price and the look I want I will go for E.L.F....

guh, vegan mascara is the bane of my existence. I haven't found a single one that has truly impressed me yet. Not a single one.

I ended up buying this stuff today. It's pretty thick and I really dislike the packaging, but we'll see how it goes.

I noticed yesterday that Urban Decay has a mascara for fake lashes out that's vegan. Like it's specially formulated to not thicken. Which is cool, but I don't use fake lashes ever.

And they also have out a lash growth serum.

Still no regular mascara, though.

I agree with you about the packaging, but I like Lights, Camera, Lashes by Tarte... But sadly, it's not vegan. :( Tarte doesn't have it listed on their vegan makeup page. I'm guessing it's because it's got stearic acid in it.
I haven't found a vegan mascara that I really like, so I'm using my last tube of Lights, Camera, Lashes until it's all gone...

Which brand are you asking about?

I haven't tried the Tarte waterproof yet...The regular kind that I use , adds a bit of length and gives good texture, not clumpy as long as you wipe off the excess before applying.

I want to try their waterproof stuff but they never have it in stock at Sephora when I am there. I'm sure if you called ahead to see if they have any testers, they could aply some for you and you could give it a whirl for the day to help you decide if you like it!

I thought that you and missmuffcake were talking about tarte 4-day stay, so that is the one I was wondering about.
Some of the reviews I read said that it thickened and legthened, others said it didn't. Some said it stayed tacky, and wasn't like a true stain, so I am a bit confused by what this mascara/stain really is.

Does anybody know if the Origins mascaras are vegan?
I use this one and I like it : ( but the "gel-based formula" thing seems a bit suspicious to me.
It'd be cool to know, since I'm running out D: If it's not, I guess I'll have to give something else a try.

Hmm, I remember reading in a very old thread that everything from Origins is vegan, except for some lip glosses that contain beeswax. Sounds too good to be true.

I don't know if that one is vegan, but they are really good at labeling their packaging. My skincare products from them all say "no animal testing" and no animal ingredients", so I would suggest just going into their store and check the box. I couldn't see an ingredient list on their site for the mascara. If it's vegan I will try it next. I am using ZuZu Luxe now and it's pretty good.

I think ZuZu is the only one available near me that is vegan without having to go to Sephora. Good to know it's decent (pricey though!).
