this morning, after I fell asleep and almost missed my stop on the bus, I found myself screaming in the rain before I walked into the building I work in. I'm still having a stressful work day so far, but it felt good!
who's with me?

Yes! Sometimes I just need to yell a little. It's like a pressure release valve. But if there's anyone around they automatically assume I'm crazy and/or way more upset than I actually am.

Pressure release valve is an accurate description.

I do this a lot in my car while fighting traffic on the way to/from my horrible job. Sometimes it makes me feel better, sometimes it just makes me throat hurt.

I just found myself with my hands in fists at my desk, so another scream may be in order.

i have a pre-teen and we're both stressballs; we also live pretty close to other people so we bought a small trampoline (rebounder) and when we feel like screaming, we go bounce. We are also allowed/encouraged to tell the other person "you need to go bounce right now." I recommend it highly- less police calls than screaming.

Otherwise my neighbors would definitely get suspicious.

Is it bad that I did this at a class full of 12 year olds who decided to collectively throw things at the same time

My stress relief screams are really wimpy. It's usually like a "Gaaah!!" and lasts maybe 3 seconds. Sometimes I throw something or slam something on the table or ground...usually after making sure I'm not going to break anything. (I don't know if anyone remembers my hammer post a long time ago...but I learned my lesson).

I also scream in my car a lot when I'm distressed/late.

Nope. If I start screaming, then I start crying and things rapidly get out of control.

I have a really bad temper and for me, screaming is just like a tiny crack in the hull of a ship and before you know it the forking thing is perpendicular to the water and people are falling into the ocean, hitting the propellers on the way down. So I have to try to keep it in check.

I wish there was a place that was sound proof where I could just go to scream. I would pay 2.00.
I will bring this to my business start conference as an idea.....
