i have a $25 gift card to a bookstore and i reckon i'll buy a new PPK book. it's between Vegan Cookies, Vegan Cupcakes, and Vegan Brunch. although now i'm curious about Appetite for Reduction. i thought i might get the cookie book, but i also reeeeally want vegan brunch. or should i wait for AFR? halp D:

I'd get Vegan Brunch definitely. I think a lot of people are put off it thinking that they don't eat brunch but at least 3/4 of the things I tested for it were eaten at non brunch times of the day.

If you've got cake/cupcake recipes that you use already and love, I'd go for Brunch. If you don't, Cupcakes are a must. But get cookies if you plan on doing a lot of holiday baking or baked goods gift-giving because the recipes in there are perfect for that.

brunch is SO good, and i agree that most of the recipes will work just as fantastically outside the realm of brunch.

I wasn't as excited for VB as I've been for other ppk books, but VB has easily become one of my favorite cookbooks. I don't think I've once made anything in the book for breakfast or brunch (except maybe muffins/bagels), but I've made a ton of shiitake from it and have literally loved it all!

+1 for Vegan Brunch, if only for the quiche...and waffles...and tomato rosemary scones, and tempeh cakes, and pumpkin french toast, and polenta rancheros, and...
do I need to go on?

My vote is for cupcakes, but it really depends on what you are looking for. VCTOTW is a wonderful book if you are looking for baking recipes. If you want a book with a broader range of recipes, you can't go wrong with Vegan Brunch. As everyone here says, it has recipes that can be used any time of day.

Another vote for Vegan Brunch, unless you're planning to make a ton of cookies for holiday gifts. Vegan Brunch has been my stand-by for weekend breakfasts since I bought it.

VB is great or you could do AFR because it's going to be awesome. If you make/want a lot of cookies, VCIYCJ is perfect.

Vegan Brunch! They are all great choices, but I vote VB because a lot of those recipes have become any-time-of-day staples for me.

Vegan Brunch! They're all great, but you'll get more variety with this one.

vegan brunch it is. although i'll probably pick up the VCIYCJ too because i will be doing lots of holiday baking/giving cookies as gifts. so i'ma get the cookies and brunch.
i love cupcakes, but i just don't make them enough, and i don't feel like they're as practical as cookies. thanks everyone, this was very helpful. :D

Vegan Brunch was going to be my pick too because I want it and don't have it yet.

Brunch vote. The tomato Rosemary scones are bliss!

If you're spending money now, go for Vegan Brunch. That book is amazing. Coffee cake! Omelets! Tempeh cakes! Mango coconut muffins! Sausages! I could go on, but it's making me want breakfast right now.

The one I have used the most is VCTOTW, but I've had it the longest! It was actually my first vegan cookbook. You can see where my priorities lie.
Vegan Brunch is really rad, too. And I'm all about AFR because, well, as you can tell from my first statement... I eat a lot of cake.
