Soon after posting this, I realised that list is done on the number of group members listening rather than total number of listens. Dream: crushed.

Ok, so, when you open up itunes, a little bubble pops up on the bottom that says it's preparing last.fm for scrobbling. DON"T plug in your ipod until another bubble pops up saying that it's ready to scrobble. Usually, I would just plug in my ipod and let that open up itunes automatically, but then it never scrobbled. I have it scrobbling consistently now that I am following the above instructions.
