Any PPK's here? I had to move here from L.A. for my boyfriends work and I'm not seeing a lot of vegan friendly stuff around here.

Where in orange county are you at? I went to school in OC and grew up in northern San Diego county.

I know there are a few vegan restaurants, such as Native Foods.

Orange County is a huge area, but here's a few places I can think of off the top of my head.

There are several Native Foods locations scattered all around.

The Stand in Laguna is amazing and wonderful. A real treasure.

Avanti Cafe in Costa Mesa is fantastic. Get a pizza with Zhug sauce, for reals. And a Bloody Mary if you're into that sort of thing.

Secret Spot in Huntington Beach has great burritos.

Mothers Market grocery stores has delis and cafes that are super friendly to our kind, with many locations.

Sea Birds food trailer travels around the Irvine area mainly and is yumtastic.

The absolute best vegan food in OC is Au Lac in Fountain Valley. Spectacular asian cuisine and also raw foods.

Speaking of raw, there are a bazillion cafes spread around. Good 2 Go and 118 Degrees are worth trying out.

There's also your Whole Foods (Tustin is the most vegan friendly, with a separate hot bar and lots of pizza and dessert options), Veggie Grills, and Loving Huts scattered all around.

There are many wonderful options in OC, go exploring! :)

First of all, my condolences.

However, the Chicken Run Ranch Burger at Native Foods is the greatest thing ever. My belly is rumbling just thinking about it. The Stand is really good too, and there's a taco place up the street, about five minutes on foot, that does blackened tofu tacos and a few other vegan options.

This is actually a little embarrassing, but I once rode my bike to Costa Mesa from Corona, about seventy miles round trip, for one of those. It ... it was worth it.

You guys never told me! I've passed through OC so many times in the past couple years and my parents live like 30 minutes from Aliso Viejo. (And I'm embarrassed to admit it but I lived in Aliso Viejo for a short while 12 years ago)

I went to college at uc irvine. I thought there were some pretty good vegan options:

Mothers
Veggie grill
Native foods ( my fav is the soul bowl)
Wheel of life ( vegan Thai!!! In irvine. The HB location is closed)
Lees sandwiches has a good veggie sandwich for cheap
Loving Hut

There are a few new places that opened since I moved. I think they may be Asian. I live in The bay area now and I miss all the good OC food :(

I'm living in Mission Viejo. It's umm...a little conservative. I do hair modeling for Sassoon Academy so it makes it impossible to blend in.

I hit the Veggie Grill in Irvine a few days ago. The All Hail Kale salad is my very favourite. Now that I have a few places to eat at, I feel less dead inside.

Thanks guys!

I used to work near there (RSM) and I have family in the area. There are some good parts of that but there are also some less conservative areas of OC that you can live if you decide to move at some point.

I went to this place on Saturday for my fiancee's birthday, and i just had to dig up this thread and mention it.

This place is in Mission Viejo, in a strip mall, but the food and ambience is superb. Kind of expensive, but high quality, special occasion type place.

best part: they have a Vegan and a GF menu!

There are actually a few really good vegan places in the OC, but it is nice to go to a good restaurant with my Omni partner and both of us enjoy the food. (he likes my cooking, but pretty much hates vegan restaurants)

I had the Seitan with the stuffed chilli, subbed the cous cous for the rice, and we shared a serving of the Asparagus. it was really good. My partner liked the Seitan, i had to make him stop eating mine (he ate a steak)

Also you can bring your own wine, $15 corking fee.

Though i would share...I dont think many know this is a vegan option

Some friends recently took me to Mitasie 3 in Huntington Beach. It's vegan Vietnamese. My Vietnamese friend gave it a thumbs up! It is a bit heavy on the faux meats for me but I thought it was pretty good overall.

Ok, so hardly anyone here lives in OC, but I found a couple of new places recently (thanks to Yelp) that are vegan, locally. It's a public forum, so maybe the info will be helpful to someone out there.

Phoney Baloney (awesome name) is an all vegan sandwich shop in Irvine. Pretty new. Pretty cheap ($1 off if you check in on Yelp) and very very yum. They are trying out a new fake chicken product that I had in my sandwich. My omni partner had the fluffernutter sandwich and part of mine. He actually liked my sandwich! We will go here again for sure.

Ciceros Pizzeria Kitchen is a pizza/italian place near where I live in Lake forest, practically walking distance. According to Yelp reviews, they will do you pizza with Daiya for no extra charge! (does not indicate on the menu. They do GF too). Usually if we order pizza, like if we have people over to watch a UFC fight or something, I just make a sandwich. But now this is an option for sure.

Beauty and the Ink is a salon and tattoo place that does 100% vegan tatts and aftercare. It has great reviews. I have been looking for a place for ages. Now time to get the balls to get some ink.
