WWVegan Bake Sale: for the Animals Sanctuary 5/1 @ MooShoes

The Third Annual Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale is upon us! I think it would be rad if we all got something together again.

The bake sale will be held at Moo Shoes on 5/1 and will benefit for the Animals sanctuary!

What say you, PPK? Shall we do this thing?

Yes!! I am so in! I may be moving around that time so it's possible that things will be hectic.. But no matter what I will at least come to the bake sale!

Aww..I can't join in this year. But yay because this baby should be here by then. And if he/she is not I'm going to be awfully cranky and not much help anyway being it's 12 days past my due date.

ok, sorry, thread segue... but hey BAKE SALE! i might actually be able to participate this time! the catch is that i work retail so almost always work weekends, but i might be able to switcheroo my schedule by then. at the very least, i will stop by and eat things. yay!

So if no one has any other ideas, I'll reach out to MooShoes, if that's OK.

Since they hosted a bake sale for Sea Shepherd in January and Darwin in February, I'm leaning more toward for the Animals. What do you all think?

Also, we usually have a table set up for literature and merch from the organization, but I'm not sure how much of that ftA has. If it's not much, what do you think of maybe using one table for a mini craft fair?

I'm down with MooShoes and for the animals. And I think a mini craft fair sounds awesome. I would totally bring some stuff.

Just so you all know I'm not asleep at the wheel on this: I just submitted our application to the Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale website.

I haven't really started promoting it yet because I don't want people to get sick of hearing about it over the next month and a half and the last big bake sale was barely a month ago, but everyone is welcome to start spreading the word whenever they like. I'll probably wait a bit before I start soliciting donations from local bakeries/restaurants too.

Theresa from ftA is working on the flier.

I think that's all the news that's fit to print!

Either way, as long as you get a ride. You have way too much stuff to carry on your own!

Also, are we going to do drinks again? tea/iced tea/cocoa?

I think we should. Do people think hot drinks will still sell in May? Should we go with iced? MooShoes will probably let us use their fridge. The thing I like about hot drinks is they require almost no advance prep and are practically unlimited on the cheap (we always run out of water and have to refill before we run out of tea bags or hot chocolate). If we make lemonade or iced tea or something, when it's gone, it's gone, you know? There's no way to refill.

Thoughts?
