I don't know if this is allowed or not (mods please delete if it's not), but seriously where can I get employed?! I have been foraging for jobs on Craigslist (admittedly not the best place) for two months now. I have gotten ONE response to probably my 100+ emails. I had an interview and then got told that I didn't have any experience so they didn't want to hire me. Probably my biggest problem is that I don't have any work experience aside from babysitting and also am under 18 (only for 5 more months), so I can't serve alcohol. Do any of you know places to look that may be hiring? I will work in food, hospitality, customer service, really anything at this point. Thanks for reading my desperate plea! Help a poor girl out!

This is going to sound ridiculous, but go out to bars and network. That's how my cousin got her job working in fashion as an acct exec with a BA in english... and that's how I got my job working as a web designer/programmer in a manhattan hospital. It's amazing what you can accomplish over a beer. Even if you don't drink, err, pretend?
If that fails, there's always the lucrative business of being a high-class escort. I'm not going to clarify whether I'm kidding or not.

I don't have any advice, then.

The best thing to do is to start going into stores and apply. Smaller businesses may not always have applications, so bring a couple of resumes. I worked all through high school (starting when I was 15). My first job was an ice cream parlor, next was Starbucks and a bakery. Are you willing to work in food places that aren't vegan? When you do apply, also try to hand your application to a manager and set up an interview immediately. Let me know if you need any other help.

When I moved here I went to a temp agency and temped for about 2 months at various places before I was placed in a long term temp thing and i asked that place to hire me after a while.

I'd say temping too, although I don't know about age restrictions. I randomly was temping when I got this job that I've been at for 10 years; my boss and I just clicked.
