we had pretty exhaustive threads on these on the old boards and I think most major stuff has been taken care of by now, but if anyone has any questions about potential typos about the older books you can post them here

I don't remember the thread in the old boards, but I read the recipe for quinoa pinapple cashews stir fry in Vcon yesterday and I noticed that after your roast them, it never tells you when to add the cashews.

Is there any way to link to those old threads, or transfer the info to the new boards? I have all of these cookbooks and I would like to be able to bookmark or print out the errata and typos so that I can quickly check them before I make a recipe. (I had an unfortunate incident with some carrot cake cupcakes that could have benefited from such a list!)

Eeks-- I was thinking about making carrot cake cupcakes (I can't remember if they are in VwaV or VCTOTW-- I was reading through both over the weekend.)-- is there anything I should know before trying them out?

Oh man, I think I remember somthing about those cupcakes being wrong. I think the flour in the recipe was off? Okay I just did a google search. This page isn't cached, but it has this in the text preview: "Adding the extra cup of flour worked for me, I don't think there are any corrections to the carrot cake cupcakes recipe other than that ..."

I have a friend who had a whole batch of cupcakes go wrong, because of that typo. I definitely know there is something off, but wish I remembered exactly what the fix was...

In VWAV, is there really supposed to be four teaspoons of salt in the garlicky sauteed mushrooms and green beans? I made this yesterday and assumed it must somehow, I don't know, something that would make it not taste like eating a bowl full of salt, but it came out near inedible. I thought as I was going, that seems like a lot of salt, but maybe it pulls out the moisture from the mushrooms or something. It was off though...

i've added an extra 1/4 cup of flour or so in the carrot cake cupcakes, and a tb of cornstarch and they came out wonderfully. (in my book, i wrote 3/4-1 cup of flour... total)
also, in vegan brunch, you are credited as "paul"

In VWAV I'm looking at the recipe for the Blueberry coffee cake and it calls for
250ml pure maple syrup... this seems like quite a lot to me ? and also 4 tsp of ground allspice ?

Any chance of fixing the links for the old errata pages???
I've just make the lychee cupcakes for the first time, and there's definitely something not right with the quantities there - I was really dubious about it having so much flax in it. I had to add another cup of liquid even to be able to stir it, let alone have it get to a cake-batter consistency. I can't remember if it ever came up on the old board?

I remember that the flax was right, even though it seems like a lot. That's all I have to add though.
Basic Pastry crust in VB is only 1/4 cup of butter, not 1 and a 1/4 cup!

vcon's almost all-american seitan potpie omits to say when you add the seitan back in, but that's not really rocket science. the carrotcake cupcakes however!!!! so that's what happened to my last 3 batches of cupcakes!
