Are you having a bakesale for Japan in your area? Let me know and I will make a centralized blogpost for them. Thank you! The Omaha one is listed here: http://www.facebook.com/isachandra#!/ev ... 5819458215

I've never been involved in one in Brisbane (I don't know if they happen) but I just wanted to say that I'm really happy you are doing this.

I would host one if there were actually other vegans here to come and buy things. Maybe if there's one in Sydney I'll use it as an excuse to get on the bus and go visit.

Use it as both an opportunity to raise money for Japan AND proof that vegan baked goods are awesome/not scary. It helps to have a really central location. I posted a call-out for bakers/donations on our little island community exchange this morning, and I've already had three enthusiastic responses for people who want to contribute! One was a bakery that asked me to veganize one of their recipes. People are generally pretty skeptical of veganism here since everyone seems to be an "ethical carnivore", so if I can do it, so can you! :)

Is there anyone in Asheville who wants to try to do one? I don't have the contacts here that I had in NYC but I am down to bake and have a lot of tables we can use.

I am trying to organize one via the Dallas TX USA thread in the square. If that doesn't work out, I'll send money to one of y'all's bake sales.

If you can't find ppk vegans to do it (they're pretty spread out across the metroplex) and you still want to to do a bakesale, you might try finding people at the next Dallas Vegan Drinks or on the Dallas Vegan facebook page.

Special to PPKers: If you'd like to have your vegan bake sale for Japan included in the third annual Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale - which will be epic - you can just message me or email me at gary@veganbakesale.org and reference this thread or a thread in the Square, or a blog post or Facebook page that has the bake sale info, so you don't have to duplicate effort. If you prefer, you can use the classic (and easy) form to sign up: http://www.veganbakesale.org/veganbakes ... ignup.htmlYou can sign up for the WVBS while some details, such as venue, are TBD, and fill in the details as they emerge. But that's not all. I'll also endeavor to monitor threads, blog posts, FB event pages and such so that when details change, I can change them accordingly on the WVBS schedule, so you don't have to contact me. I can't guarantee I'll spot everything, but hopefully it will save you some time. I'll also try my best to promote the bake sales as a whole every way I can. Plus your listing in the WVBS schedule may help inspire others. And, if you want, I'm happy to issue tweet-outs and FB statuses and possibly news blurbs on the WVBS website asking for bakers and helpers for your bake sale. It's another channel anyway. FYI, we have tons of tips on planning and holding bake sales here: http://www.veganbakesale.org/veganbakes ... -tips.html Granted, many of you already know all these things. In fact, we're always looking for new tips if you have them; we'll give you credit. The tips page also links to related articles, such as a great one for last-minute bake sales that Isa wrote last year: http://www.veganbakesale.org/veganbakes ... -tips.html

Hi There, I'm Sabrina from The Tomato Tart (thetomatotart.com) I'm hosting an online bake sale for Japan. I would love it if any food bloggers would like to donate baked goods. I am hoping we can raise a whole lot of dough (get it?) for Japan. I am constantly amazed by what the blogging community has been able to do when we pull together. All my best Sabrina please email at bakesale {at} the tomato tart {dot} {com} or check out the blog post at http://www.thetomatotart.com/life/onlin ... elp-japan/

I'm trying to figure out how best to organize these. The forums have worked pretty well in the past, so maybe I should just create a sub-forum (in the Kitchen?) for bakesales. But I'm also wondering if it would be better to do a FB group or fanpage. I know that Gary has them all listed on the WW Vegan Bake Sale, but for these Japan specific ones. I don't want to have to keep updating a list because it's just not that efficient. Thoughts?
