I did some googling, but didn't come up with much. Do any of you know of any decent Asian supermarkets around the north shore? I'd prefer not to have to go into Boston, but I don't mind an hr or so drive. I'm on Cape Ann, but I really don't mind driving a while...I just hate parking, etc., in Boston (just to go to a grocery store anyway).
What about Indian grocery stores? Any of those?
Thanks, all.

Malden might be a little farther south than you want to go, but there's a Super 88, at least one other Asian market, and two Indian grocery stores.

I live in Portsmouth, NH and there is an Indian Grocery Store opening a block away from my apartment! They are still in the building phase, but their sign is up and I'm so excited! I just hope they open before I move!

I just moved to the North Shore and was searching for this too! I came up pretty short. I was also looking for a Latin market and all I found was the Market Basket in Chelsea.

There is an Indian grocer in Wakefield called McGills. (Yeah, I was confused about the name too.) They have a ton of cheap spices and beans and they even offer cooking classes, which I want to do one of these days. Its kind of a dump, but you can find any spice you'll ever need there. Oh, and they also have takeout. Everything they have underlined on their menu is explicitly vegan, and is about 50% of what they have.

If for some reason you ever find yourself wanting to drive about an hour south to Quincy, Kam Man in Quincy is my favorite Asian Market. It's not only a huge market with a good gluten/mock meat/tofu selection, they have a few mini stores, like an indoor flea market and then one more big store for household goods. You can get some pretty sweet asian items there! It's indoors too. On the weekends, parking is awful but they do have a pretty big lot. You usually have to park kind of far away though.
Oh, and hold your breath/breathe out of your mouth because it smells awful in there.
