I found this, but not in Philly and not sure how far this is from you. Thanks! That's actually really close to me, but I want to see it live! I'm watching the movie right now! http://www.buckscountyplayhouse.com/buc ... ction=mainIt's not at midnight. But the Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope is doing it. The only thing I found online was this Yahoo answer page. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index ... 725AAtbh6J

I went with a friend once last year who just wanted to buy all the doughnuts, and by the time we got there at 1 they were gone. I'm really glad I never had thing for doughnuts; otherwise, I'd be fighting everyone at Govindas.

I could go for a Boston Creme donut right about now. Maybe that would make me feel better.

You can also call Vegan Treats and order doughnuts/other desserts over the phone. Then simply pick them up at one of there drops on Thursdays, ie Govinda's, One Shot, ect.

It's the last full day that my three year old is staying at my grandparents house. Going to Grindcore House to drink lots of coffee and read. And probably eat cake. It's the only place in Philly that I have discovered so far that has coffee strong enough for me.

OK, here's the Vegan Treats doughnut scoop, all arriving Thursday:
Grindcore House- $3 each, delivered around 12:30. usually gets 5 or 6 different flavors. typically a few left on Friday morning. today there are chocolate glazed, plain glazed, bavarian cream, pumpkin cream, coconut cream, boston cream.
Govinda's- $3 each, delivered around noon, usually gets 3+ flavors. occasionally has some left on Friday.
New Harmony- $2 each, not sure what time they're delivered, usually gets 2-3 flavors
I had a Boston Creme today, which was surprisingly...without cream. w.t.f. At least I had bangin' Grindcore coffee to enjoy with it.
I love Horizon's, but I can only afford to go there a couple times a year. Love love love their BBQ Seitan appetizer! Can't stand Mi Lah..so so overpriced. At least Horizons is worth the money. I'm about to head to Blackbird. Need to enjoy this beautiful day and eat dinner at old person dinnertime!

I wish someplace in west philly would get VT donuts so I could get them without a super inconvenient trip across town. Satellite gets lots of VT stuff but no donuts. Boo.

i go to horizons every week. but combined income of married people makes $20 tofu a little more affordable. and is key to happy marriage. sometimes we only order apps and then split a dessert. soup/salad is pretty reasonable there.
thanks for the info on the grindcore vt delivery, i really want those pumpkin cream donuts.
i used to have govinda's delivered a few years ago, but i lived 6 blocks away, so i think that's why they were cool about it.

Yeah I think a lot of the people here have gone to Horizons (and how could anyone who has gone NOT absolutely love it). It's just we don't talk about it too often bc most people don't go very often. It's the vegan Le Bec Fin, what whatttt. (Actually, having eaten at Le Bec Fin, Horizons wins by like, 100.)

I've actually never been to it's downtown spot, but it sounds like they're a bit too fancy now. yeesh. i also miss New Harmony. hardcore.

i got a donut from new harmony on a saturday night. it was good, but i bet it'd be better on a thursday. (the glaze of a different donut was sticking to the bottom, and was all juicy and stuff.) nothing like a fresh donut. especially a mighty-o *sigh*

am i the only one who thinks horizons is mid-range? i don't think it is fancy, either. i usually just sit at the bar and it feels casual. it feels like home to me?
when i want to celebrate, then we might dress up and book a table and order a little more than we should. or cook horizons-style at home.
but seriously, get 3 apps for two people, a drink each, and your bill is not much more than most places.
