School board member from Arkansas says obscene things about recent suicides and people wearing purple in support.

I feel awful for every kid in that school district.

I am sick that someone with that much rage, hate for others and self-loathing for himself (not to mention horrible English skills) is on the school board. That rage has to leak out to everyone around him.

It makes me cringe when hateful people refer to themselves as Christians. This guy has CLEARLY never laid his hands on a copy of the New Testament.

Insult to injury. Hateful, bigoted, AND he has poor language skills. That's the guy I want in charge of education.

I wasn't trying to play down the hate that this "man" has. What he said was beyond reprehensible.

How do you come to hate some one you don't know, who has likely never done anything to you to cause you to hate them? How does rage become so much a part of your fabric that the mere mention of this "thing" can send you foaming at the mouth? I really do spend way too much time trying to understand it.

Also...this is really shitty, sensationalistic writing.




This guy is a total scumbag who says he enjoys that gay people can't reproduce and some have died of AIDS, but he never encourages them to commit suicide.

I dunno, he did say : "The only way Im wearin it for them is if they all commit suicide."

It shouldn't stun me, but it really does that anyone connected with children can say something like this. What the hell is wrong with this person?

This turns my stomach. People involved in education are supposed to protect children. This asshat doesn't even love his own.



What's scary is that he does think that this group has done something to him: "No because being a fag doesn't give you the right to ruin the rest of our lives." This man is so out of touch that he thinks that his life is being ruined. is it because people are wearing purple? What have they ever done to you?



Don't forget appallingly unable to think things through. How does anyone in a public service position post something like that on their facebook and not realize that it's going to be a big issue? I'm glad he did it - I hope he suffers the consequences of such sickening hatred.

I found this last night and thought it was interesting. He is very concerned about the affects his comments will have on his family. But fails, or so it seems, to make the connection between his comments and possible affects on others.
Plus, it appears he knows he stepped in it as he is conferring with at lawyer.

This man does not serve and represent ALL children and should be removed from his position on the school board. I would think the LAST thing LGBT kids need is an adult in charge of their education telling them he hates them.

WHOA-he even says he would disown his own children if they came out as gay! :0

I can't wrap my head around any of this as a parent, educator or a member of the human race!

At least he had the decency to resign.

I hate that things he says and can't believe they let someone like that in a position of authority in the school system, but I really don't think his English is that much of a problem. People use the language how they want and I don't really mind if someone doesn't always speak in the correct* register.

*Not that I believe there are correct registers, just the socially acceptable ones.
