Go buy more! Honeycrisp + raw almond butter is one of the most delicious combinations EVER! Also, I found it super amusing to calculate the cost of each apple - they are like a pound each! When I eat one, I'm like "this is the best $3.02 I ever spent on a piece of produce!"

Haha! I was doing that on my way out of the store. I was thinking, "damn, these are a freaking pound each!" There weren't any small ones, or I would have bought more!

I don't recall ever eating a honeycrisp. Now I feel deprived. The store I work at has them for $1.79/lb right now. I'll have to try them.

I bought some giant yellow-and-pink-swirled apples labeled "honey crunch". Could these be the same thing?

They do, but to be honest, many different varieties of apple look the same to me... These are really big though, like double the size of your usual apple.

I agree, sometimes apples look alike. The ones I just bought are huge, but I don't know if that's characteristic of the typical Honeycrisp.

I overdid it with honeycrisps this season. Now I don't want apples for a long time.

I found some for $1.59/lb today! I ate two already and I'm resisting the urge to eat the other one sitting on the kitchen counter.

Wow, I can't believe I didn't see this thread! Honeycrisps are the superior apple. The first year I discovered them, I was buying 5 pounds of them a week. People started looking at me strangely when they walked past my desk, but I didn't care. I've had a bunch already this year, too.
They're pretty much the only thing that cures my sadness when the last local peaches are gone.

I love honeycrisp apples. One good thing about living in Minnesota is that there are a lot of them this time of year.
