Does anyone notice a difference in how they feel when you do or do not take your supplements?
I am most curious about if vitamin D and omega-3 supplements help with moods disorders like depression.

it could just be in my head, but I do feel happier when I remember to take my vitamin D pill
eta: I normally only take the vitamin D in the winter because I never see the sun and I also take a multi vitamin on days when I eat crappy food.

I take iron (ferrous gluconate) x2, a multi B, vitamin D2, DHA daily. I take B12 a couple times a week. And if I'm eating really poorly, I'll take a multi.

sublingual B vitamins
I usually try to have some flaxseed oil a couple times a week, in a vinaigrette or something. And I eat a fair amount of sea vegetables (2 kinds 2 or 3 x/a week) and greens (1c./day) for calcium.
I need to find a good supplement for D.

When I worked at health food stores, I took whatever I could get my hands on (which was lots) because it was usually all free. When that wasn't available anymore, I stopped taking supplements for a few years. In the past 4 months, I've been taking D, a multi, the occasional probiotic and chlorella, and a B Complex, and honestly, I feel great. My boyfriend has been really sick three times in that period, but my crazy immune system soldiers on. I also feel like I have more energy (I'm actually working out almost every day, which was foreign to me several months ago), and I think the probiotics really help with digestion because I haven't had any digestion issues in ages. I wish I knew exactly which supplement was really helping because I'm not sure if I'm financially going to be able to refill the ones I currently have, but I have a suspicion that the New Chapters daily women's multi is a good one. I'll probably ditch the D until next fall/winter.

I take a multi (Animal Parade! It's a kid's one and it tastes like candy...) and calcium+D. Occassionally I'll take a B complex, but that's generally reserved for when I feel crappy...

Multi-vitamin B12 Cranberry Probiotic
That's it. Should probably get my blood tested one of these days, though. I guess I should look into DHA, but I recall the last time I looked they were bloody expensive.

I've started taking spirulina tablets and they make me really sick feeling. Like right now I want to vomit. I had this same experience with wheatgrass shots a few years back, where I immediately threw it up about 10 minutes after I drank it.
Does anyone else have this issue? I really want to continue to take them but I dont know if I can if they keep making me feel like this.

I take a sublingual B12, D, Multi w/ Iron and PROBIOTICS. I also put this powdered wheat grass stuff in my smoothies because it makes me feel like Super woman! I like the VegLife brand of vitamins, because they're all vegan and pretty affordable. My probiotics are country life and certified vegan as well.

I've noticed a lot of people just write "a multi". I take one too, and the pills smell wicked gross and are huge and I have a hard time convincing my throat to swallow these large, stinky things. What are other people's like? Please tell me there is a not super expensive, small, maybe even chewable or gummy vitamin that I can take!

I take Deva vegan prenatal multivitamins. I used to take Vitamin Code raw multivitamins and a B Complex/Folic acid capsule, but I can no longer afford those, haha : (

J/K :) I've never heard of a multi vitamin that WASN'T smelly, huge, and hard to swallow. And I have taken a good variety of different brands over the years.

A take a multi vit with iron. (It has B12 and D, and iodine.) It's a weird liquid one. I sort of like it. I only have one teaspoon a day though and it recommends two. Occasionally I'll have a Vit B Complex when I remember, or a vit D.

Since my last post in this thread -- my supplement count has increased to: 2000 iu D, Probiotic, 800mg Folic Acid, B12, prenatal, DHA. I basically take a handful of vitamins before bed every night.

Please tell me there is a not super expensive, small, maybe even chewable or gummy vitamin that I can take! I take VegLife kids multi (adult ones upset my stomach)- they're fruity and chewable. But there are other brands of kids ones that are vegan too, and probably much easier to take! In the past, I've taken a multi, B12, D2, and probiotics. I've fallen off the wagon (ran out of the first two), so it's been a while, but I'll get back to it. I also want to get some DHA. I want to try this even though it's pricey, but admittedly I don't really understand all the omega-3/EPA/DHA/GLA stuff so much.

Is anyone else supplementing choline? I saw one person mention it. Someone mentioned that it might be an issue for vegans and choline hadn't really been on my radar before. Thoughts?

Just B12 and D. I used to do DHA, but I ran out and never restocked.
And no, I've never felt any different.

I'm bumping this thread due to my recent supplement/vitamin confusion:
When I'm rich enough to afford everything, I like to take a multivitamin, an omega-3 supplement, acidophilus, and an immunity defense thinger (the New Chapter kind with the mushrooms). I also take Vitamin D in the winter (yay springtime!) and Emergen-C when I'm feeling run down.
But now I'm down to just omega-3 and acidophilus and wondering what's worth buying again. I feel I've been told to take "lady" multis since I was a teenager because of the iron and calcium... but maybe they're not necessary? I've been re-reading Vegan For Life which seems to say that you should be OK without a multi, but I worry that I'll be missing something, especially since my iron levels were on the low end last time I got a blood test (luckily not anemic though).
For those of you that do take a multivitamin, do you rely on that for B12 too or do you take an additional B12? OH and I'm also thinking of taking a separate biotin supplement because my nails peel and bend all the time (the Deva Hair Skin and Nails did nothing for me, sadly) - but maybe this would also be solved by a super multivitamin?
So many questions, PPK!!

I take an additional B12 supplement whenever I remember, in addition to my multi. I also take DHA every other day, and flax seed oil caps on the other day.
I kind of take a lot of supplements but most of them are for my eczema and have nothing to with vegan, but:
Hair, Skin and Nails multi DHA Flax Glucosamine St. Johns Wort Evening Primrose Oil
I also have a bottle of Deva Valerian Root for problems with sleeping, but they smell so damn bad that I took it once, burped the smell/taste, and haven't taken them since.
