I tried doing this and also failed. I hatehatehatehate pushups and got discouraged when I kept having to repeat week one and two. I did it for quite a while, a few months, but kept having to repeat and I never seemed to get any better. I hope it works for those of you who are doing it now!

cool Vladan, good work! W2D2 for me today. feels good! that longer rest period really helps. arms and pecks were SORE right after todays work out, but feel fine now. i still cant envision doing 100 non-stop, and looking ahead at week six seems very daunting. but im just going to stick with the program and redo weeks if needed, or just take longer breaks. got up to 73 non-consecutive today though. whew! ilovemountains wrote: I tried doing this and also failed. ugh. came up 2 short today on W2D3. the final set of reps was 20min-MAX. i could only hit 18. still up to 78, so thats an improvement, but it was slightly disappointing.
oh well, keep pushin'. we'll see how i do on the end of week test.

got up to 73 non-consecutive today though. whew! Thanks matty. I know what you mean by the soreness, my arms have been the same. But I suppose it just means it's working. If I do one hundred non stop after six weeks I'm going to be over the moon.

you are now officially accountable Eric.
as a matter of fact, in order to make it official, im going to do W3D1 now to seal the deal. (i missed doing it in the morning because i was so busy. i was going to put it off until tomorrow, but im going to do it here at work while no one is looking.)

done! (im glad no one was around to see this) this is the week i began to slack off. first thing, the end of week test threw me off a bit. not sure how exactly, but it put me off schedule. there was no good day to do it and keep on my M/W/F schedule i had set up for myself. W3D1 should have started on Mon, but i did the end of week test then. not good! week 2 end test i did 25. not a huge improvement, but some. now im in column 2 of W3. just did 73 total (non-consecitive), so thats a minor step back. no big deal. here's a quote from W3 on the website: Quote: If you're struggling with the program, don't lose heart. Some people will still be doing less than 16 consecutive push ups, but this is ok. Just repeat the week you struggled with until you're strong enough to move on to the next level - I promise it will be worth your while!
so thats something to help try and keep us motivated. good luck all.

time to check in Eric. you got osme pus-ups to account for!
nice work Vlad. i got sent to column 2 after W2, but i screwed up and didnt do my after week test until 4 days after my last day of W2. not sure if that had a negative effect or not.
anyways, in the morning im re-doing W3. i did day 1 and 2 after the W2 end test last week. got all off schedule because of that damn test. damn odd numbered amount of days in the week is my excuse.
W3D1 here i come. gonna kick its asparagus this time.

No, I didn't give up. I just got myself a great exercise DVD that combines the push-ups with a lot of other stuff, so I'll get a full workout. I've been good - doing the full program at least twice a week - and I can see my arm muscles with my bare eye! So one of these days I'll just do as many consecutive push-ups as I'll manage and see whether I have improved.

Just started week 4, and I'm feeling good. Was at the gym yesterday and noticed I was finding doing pull ups a lot easier so it seems to be building my strength.

restarted W3D1 yesterday. felt weak as hell, but got through. i was stuggling with the last set of 17 min. barely pulled off that 17th.
not sure what the fizzle the problem is exactly, could be a combination of things my body is up to )working nights, started running recently) but im just going to keep going and repeating as needed.
keep it up everybody!

Did W1D2 almost a week later. Oh well, better late than never. Managed 20 pressups in the final set, so am still making progress.

I tried to do this once a few years ago, and got up to maybe 30-35 consecutive before losing interest (something came up as it always does). But I really want to get back into it. I just had a crazy, pushup-heavy workout yesterday, so I'll have to wait until I'm all recovered before starting again. Good luck to everyone!

im going to get back to this asap. posting here for some motivation. i probably shouldnt have started 2 new exercise programs at once (this and C25K), but once i get into the swing of things i should be able to deal with it.

I have little to no upper body strength, I am interested to try this. I am going to do the test tonight and see how I do.
