Stupid publishers! That's a great name. Regardless, I think your seasonal baking book concept is really unique. Looking forward to seeing it! Aw, thank you, that does make me feel a bit better. And yes, to all those who inquire, there are meringues AND macarons, AND the photo actually depicts what you should end up with when you bake them!

I don't know why publishers think that most books titles should be the word vegan + the type of food. I feel stupid when I have to say things like, "The new Vegan Bean Dishes book is great!"

Guess what... My books arrived! So that means that they may actually be out in time for the official release date, depending on how quickly Amazon and other distributors process them. As soon as anyone receives a pre-ordered copy or sees it in a bookstore, PLEASE let me know! I'm dying to get feedback, too.

That's a beautiful sight! Are you going to be selling books yourself, through your site? Amazon sucks if you live in Australia and the bookstores are about three years behind, so I prefer to buy cookbooks directly from authors when I can. I'm pretty excited about this one!

I bought a whole mess of books to sell to friends and family, and directly to anyone who wants it signed (hint hint.) So if you're interested, just drop me a line at hannah @ mysweetvegan . com. At this time, I'm sad to say that I can only accept PayPal. And thank you so much for the book cover love, everyone! My heart is full to bursting right now! (PS, there will shortly be an errata page on my blog, since some of the first reviewers are already finding errors. Ugh. Such is life and cookbooks.)

I feel like I should just have a tape on loop saying "thank you," but really, thank you! I'm still so anxious to hear word of how the recipes are going over, but I'm so happy that everyone seems to have a positive feeling so far. Annnd, tada, here's the errata page, which includes two missing pictures (I think my heart sank down into my feet when I realized their absence): http://bittersweetblog.wordpress.com/cookbook-errata/ Feel free to chime in if you spot anything else!

Oh, I'm emailing you right now! I'd much rather pay you directly than amazon. The book is beautiful!

Mine got here today! It looks fantastic, I want to eat all of it. Especially that awesome watermelon ice cream bombe, which I hope to someday be ambitious enough to make! And the samoa cake! And the truffles. And the cheesecakes!!! This all looks so amazing.
So many gorgeous photos, too, which is always nice. No overuse of wacky expensive ingredients. Things I can make without turning on the oven this summer!! Can't wait to get started using it.

I also got mine yesterday. It's absolutely beautiful! I think I'm going to have to make the carrot cake ice cream first!

Can I just say, I love you guys? I was so incredibly anxious to hear the first word when the book finally hit, since it's been such a process to get it published and printed, so I think that my heart could explode of happy relief right about now. I want to hear recipe results next, share all of the gory details!

I did my first baking project from the book this weekend -- the smores pie. I was thrilled that you can make a meringue like topping from egg replacer. Who knew?
Flavor of the pie was good, but my topping was a bit runny. I'm wondering if it is possible to over-mix vegan meringue? (The book says no, but I think after a certain point my topping got thinner instead of thicker). Next time, I will watch more carefully. I'd still consider this recipe a success. It tasted and smelled like smores.

Edited to thank Hannah for the work she put into making this happen.

It's true, I haven't sat with it for over 15 minutes to find out if it could still take a beating, but I didn't think that anyone would need / want to push it that long, either. Glad you can still file that one under "success" though, that's a relief! And I hate to be so incredibly lame, but honestly, just having you guys baking from the book is all the thanks I need.
