I became a vegetarian during the Reagan administration and I have to say that I have never had Peta brought up when someone found out I didn't eat meat. Ever. I've discussed Peta with people but never as a result of anything I said about myself.

I have people bring PETA up to me when I mention I'm vegan but luckily most people are capable of separating veganism and PETA and usually ask something rational like what I think about them before accusing me of eating Carl's Jr. in a bikini because Olivia Munn dislikes circuses.
