Okay, different enough from TrueBlood for their own thread.
Book 11 comes out Tuesday! I pre-ordered it from Amazon and it shipped yesterday! I'm super excited - it has to be better than book 10, right?
Also, because I can't say it enough, I hate Bill.

I used to get so excited about the new books, and I would pre-order them months ahead of time. This time I completely forgot, because book 10 was just that bad. I'm tempted to order it, but I'm scared. I used to get through one of those books in a day, but the last one took me a month.

I'm just getting to the end of book 2, and I'm enjoying them so far. I still feel like I'm getting a lot of buildup and meeting new characters who will be important later. In fact, I think I'm going to go read some of it now instead of studying!

I never read book 10, even though I also pre-ordered the hardback. I'll add it to my list for after I finish my classes and portfolio.

i read up to book 9 and then started getting burnt out. the story is fun and is a super quick read but i really get sick of all the damn re-caps! i tried to get onto the 10th book but just couldn't, i guess it wasn't just me though. hope the 11th is good for those who are gonna read it!

I am so glad you tweeted about book 11, Dead Reckoning, because I had totally forgotten about it! The Kindle version will be delivered May 3 which is great because sometimes the Kindle version is released a week later but not for this book.
I don't remember anything from book 10, it's still in a box somewhere at home, I need to find it tonight.

that sounds like sound maths!
I have been rereading the series between Physics books. I didn't even realise that book 11 was coming out! I will reserve it at the library- I couldn't even bring myself to buy book 10.

i didn't mind 10... certainly not the best of the series, by a long shot, but i thought it was alright.
i'm super psyched to pick up the new one tomorrow, but i'll probably save it for road trip reading. and also i have a few book out from the library at the moment, so i'll need to read them first and get them back over there before i leave.

I'm only up to 9. I was waiting for a used copy to become available or to go home to borrow from my sister. I saw that 11 was coming out and decided I need to hurry up on that. I've been lost in Stephanie Plum books...totally useless books of fun.

I'm ordering 11 and the Aurora Teagarden v. 1 omnibus. If you read that awful Deborah Harkness vampire book, you'll appreciate even book 10 of the SS series.
I read the first chapter on Amazon a few months ago, and it looked like it started off well. I have high hopes for this one.

Am really looking forward to number 11, have read them all so far but the last few have been a bit inconsistent, I'm hoping it'll be a return to form.

I somehow got TWO copies from Amazon today and no invoice so I don't know how I got 2. I emailed them.
I haven't read the Teagarden ones but the other ones - the Grave ones. Like those!

Mine is in the mail too! I can't wait! I also didn't mind 10. It was NOT book 4, but enjoyable enough. I'm excited for it.

My favourite book in the Sookie Stackhouse series is definitely the one where Eric loses his memory and Sookie has to look after him, closely followed by the one where they stay in the big hotel

Appi - I also quite like the Harper Connelly books. I read her first (I think) book a few months ago - it was quite raw and ... innocent (writing about a small town in the South in the early 80s, it makes sense), but you could get a sense of her style. She's definitely developed in a lot of ways (as a writer and as a feminist, whether or not she calls herself that) since Sweet and Deadly. But I think I like her writing mostly because everything's set in the South, so it has a familiar, homey feeling to it.

i think the harper connelly series is my favorite followed closely by the sookie books.
i enjoy the aurora teagarden ones, just not as much as the other two.
and i just started reading the lily bard series. so far, i'm not hugely impressed, but they're ok.

i think everyone has the same fav :) for series, i love the cassandra clare mortal instruments and infernal devices series (they're linked) and carrie ryan's forest of hands and teeth trilogy. i'm starting the beautiful creatures series too. i've read about a chapter of DR so far. i think so far it's better than 10, but you know, fingers crossed.

I want to read Harris' other series too and you guys should totally check out Richelle Mead's books, the Succubus & Dark Swan series plus her YA series Vampire Academy. She is a great writer.
It's already the 3rd here but I won't get the book on my iPad until it's the 3rd in the USA, hurry up time.
