Like the things-that-don't-go-with-any-other-topic thread, but for Playground and kid stuff. Lots of times I have things I want to share, but they don't really fit with any of the existing threads. Like:

1) I had a dream a while ago that I was photoshopping Inez into pictures of mittenmacher's Walter to try to convince the PPK that they were total BFFs.
2) Guava kombucha has a certain, um, tang to it that is really, really reminiscent of my baby's poopy diapers. I powered through it, but DAMN. Not a pleasant association.

Oh god. Baby poo smell. I don't remember who, but someone on the ppk once said that vegan cheese reminds them of their baby's poo smell. It's totally true. I used to tolerate Daiya and FYH, but I can't stomach it anymore. I just smell baby poo now. Gross.

Non-poo randomness: Lydia loves peas more than any other food so far. We've started solids 2 weeks ago, and she get more excited about peas than sweet potatoes, applesauce, or oatmeal.

1. The Emperor has a thing for bananas lately. I opened the washer after washing his diapers the other day and it smelled like Curious George had been partying down in there. And maybe the worst part is that this is one of the least bad aromas the diaper wash has ever surprised me with.

2. The Emperor is living up to his ppk title every day now. When he gets bored now, he looks at me and shouts SING! Sometimes he requests particular songs but other times he makes me guess, and if I guess wrong... He cries.

Can I complain about people not putting sunblock on their kids here? I keep seeing the same kids covered in sunburn and hearing their parents say "I don't know why the sunblock didn't work!" and it makes me so stabby.

Last night I dreamt that my (post-menopausal) mother gave birth to twin boys. We went to visit them in the hospital and I felt so bad for them that they were being given formula (my mom didn't bf any of her kids) that I breastfed them. When the rest of my family came in and saw me nursing them they got really mad and said it was weird and gross and made me feel really bad.

What. The. Fork.

DO IT! They can be long-distance BFFs.

I had my first all-out weird pregnancy dream the other night. And now, due to mind-numbing pregnancy scatter-brainedness I can't remember it to share with anyone. Boo.

I keep having the worst dreams :( The last one was my sister and I were on a bus and the passengers killed the driver so I was driving the bus and we went through a tunnel (an extremely long one) that was pointed downhill and all of a sudden there are explosions coming from the end of the tunnel we are headed for so I slam on the brakes and try to throw it in reverse but because we are headed downhill, I end up causing the bus to flip upside down and somehow my sister and I magically crawl out unscathed...uggh. So needless to say, sleep has not been great for me o_O

I had really high octane action adventure dreams while I was pregnant with the Emperor. Lots of rescuing people and making daring escapes from space prisons and stuff.

And sex dreams, which I almost never had.

Basically, pregnancy turned my sleeping mind into a teenaged boy.

Yeah sex dreams too, I keep having dreams in the morning, that I am waking up all randy and trying to wake up the man to get some and then I actually wake up and realize I am way to tired to even attempt quietly playing chess...I can't wait until I have energy again and I am sure V will be more than excited too, he's probably getting pretty lonely!

When I do get to sleep (rare lately) I too have sex dreams and they are really good ones too!

My kid is all bunched up on the right and side, I look lopsided, it is cute.

Before I had a baby I did not know how good their breath smells. Walter's breath smells like frosting. I smell his mouth all the time. I assume this will change when he starts solids and has teeth, but it's been lovely.

The Emperor's breath always smells like yogurt. Not as much now that he eats solids as well as boob juice, but still... yogurt breath.

He also always smells kind of like a wet dog. I've grown to like it. The other day I nuzzled my face into his hair, took a huge sniff, and got hit with... the smell of the peanut butter pancakes we'd had for breakfast! Which smelled delicious, but I was still like what the hell, this isn't what you're supposed to smell like kid.

Silas has vanilla breath! It's my favorite thing in the world.

So cute. I was just thinking this morning before poopiebaby woke up (and I was lying in bed smelling his breath) that it smelled like the milk at the end of a sugary bowl of cereal. Babies smell so good.

Yes! Baby breath! Inez's breath reminds me of sugar cookies. I love it.

Both of my kids' breath smelt like sour cream when they were exclusively breastfeeding.

When I kiss Felix's head, it always reminds me of the first bite of a powdered sugar donut, when your lips hit all that powder sugar. Soft and sweet. I suppose that's kind of weird, I mean, it's not like his head has a bunch of powder on it or anything. His hair is really fine, soft, and fuzzy, though.

sometimes livi is a total spaz and i'm sure people wonder what's wrong with her, but i just laugh and shake my head.

Sometimes Inez looks like she has a Chelsea because she has this long, wispy hair around her face and the rest is fuzzy and short. She totally pulls it off!

2 things.
1) when my littlest one was very little her hair smelled like sunshine. I can't explain it any other way. But I do miss it.

and 2) Poopie sigged me!

Ergo tan lines. So hot.

I still watch GG sleeping. It's 1/2 adoration and 1/2 fear that he'll stop breathing.

So the fear that they've stopped breathing thing doesn't go away when they're bigger? Great.

I didn't stop watching Shae sleep till last year or so.

I watch my cats to make sure they are breathing, sometimes I will wake up at night and feel them to make sure. Man, I am going to be one paranoid mom!
