Hi Hannah! Tell you what...trying to decide on one recipe is nearly impossible but I think the first thing I would bake is the Sunny Side Up Apricot Danish recipe. I love Danish and I love apricots.

This is the most unintentionally amusing thread in a while.

The book looks beautiful and I've been debating about ordering it. My only question is, do many of the recipes call for hard to find ingredients? And by hard to find I don't mean things like tofutti or egg replacer but things like maca, matcha powder, kefir, etc.

I don't think they do. I don't even know what maca is, but I haven't seen any hard to find stuff like that. There might be a recipe with matcha powder, but I'm guessing if you can't get that you can just avoid any green tea recipes.

There are a couple of recipes that call for things that I would have to search out (such as rose water and xantham gum), but most recipes are based around seasonal fruits and grocery store friendly ingredients.

That about sums it up... If there are more unusual ingredients, they're usually explicitly featured like in the Matcha-Grapefruit Cupcakes. Bear in mind that recipes are also highly flexible, and I encourage flavor experimentation! You could always just omit the matcha and make plain grapefruit cupcakes, too. By the way, thanks for taking the contest bizarrity in such good spirit, guys... Ha, who knew it was so hard to actually read the three sentences-worth of rules!

And by hard to find I don't mean things like tofutti or egg replacer but things like maca, matcha powder, kefir, etc. I haven't made anything yet because I don't really have the ingredients for the stuff I really want to make, but.... My take on this is that it doesn't seem to use hard to find ingredients but it does use a lot of seasonal fresh fruits and herbs that you may have to make a specific effort to buy. It's not the kind of book where half the recipes can be made from stuff you have lying around in your pantry. Most of the unusual ingredients fall into one of two categories: a) fresh stuff that would go bad if I kept it around with no specific purpose in mind, requiring a special trip to the store or farmer's market, or b) stuff that I don't keep around in the required quantities, eg tofutti cream cheese or various liqueurs or brown rice syrup. Nothing seems particularly hard to find or terribly expensive, as long as you make things seasonally.

I usually try to make dessert around fruit, as my kids always ask "what's for dessert" while deciding if they will eat a good dinner or not, so I try to have something to offer that has some nutritional value. Thus, this cookbook looks great! I am rather new to the blog following and a long time vegetarian recently turned vegan, and I am so happy to read these blogs and always excited to see something new. Thanks for all your great ideas and beautiful photos.

I would totally make the Mojito Sugar Cookies. I'm a lazy baker & they sound easy. Also my coworkers would eat those up! Thx!

I ordered a copy from Book Depository last week, can't wait for it to arrive. The picture had a different cover though, and was listed under the name 'Hanna Klaminski'. No wonder I couldn't find it when I searched earlier. Oh, Book Depository. I love you but you are a mess sometimes.

Hurrah, I just scored the last copy on UK Amazon, with Prime. Tomorrow, you shall be mine.
On another note Hannah, the Triple Threat Cheesecake from My Sweet Vegan slayed my omni family at Christmas, so thanks for that!

The lemon sweet tea cheesecake has piqued my interest, so I'll probably try that first. Other than that, I just can't figure out what to make from this book! I never have this problem. Maybe it's just too many tasty choices.

That may have come across as harsh- what I meant was my oven can be fiddly and one of the ingredients here is slightly different. Buy this book. You won't regret it.

Hey, I notice you're in the UK... mind if I ask what egg replacer you used, and how you tweaked the recipe? I'm in the middle of having a go at the recip using Orgran No Egg, but I don't think they're going to come out. *sadface*
