I'm happy. I'm actually, really happy.
...and this is such an unfamiliar feeling for me. My birthday was yesterday and I didn't do a whole lot, just ate takeout at home by myself. I had a party on Monday and that was a lot of fun, aside from the fact that my best friend wrote me off (but that's another story).
But tonight, my friend took me out to Millenium for dinner, where I've wanted to eat since I moved here over a year ago. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but I waited for a long time because I hoped my parents would take me there when they visited and they refused. Never in my life have I been to a restaurant that nice or that expensive, and it was made that much better by being all vegan.
It may sound a little silly, but I am unbelievably grateful to my friend for treating me to this. Like, I can't stop the water from pouring out of my eyes, I am so happy. I don't even really know why I'm posting this, I just haven't felt this happy in a really, really long time. I can't even remember when the last time was.
So as not to just be a gloating thread about myself, when was there a time that a friend/lover/family member made you feel truly amazing and happy? Or when was there a time that you did that for someone else?

That's so awesome. I'm glad you had a good evening. Millennium is a wonderful experience and I'm so happy I got the chance to go when I was in San Fran Frisco.
I've been really happy in general lately. I'm going to NY tomorrow, I got a new job I really enjoy doing, since I moved everything is sort of fitting into place and I'm thrilled to bits.

That's so awesome!
A few weeks ago, my family came over and helped me (ok, they mostly did it) put a new roof on my house. I don't even want to think how expensive it would have been to pay someone to do it.

What did you eat?
I was so bummed in SF last year, we walked to Millenium from the Chinatown area but when we got there it wasn't open for dinner yet. Boo! I was so excited to go. I asked one of the guys setting up for a suggestion and he directed us back to Chinatown and we did have a great meal after all. But I still really want to eat at Millenium!
Happy Birthday!
PS: I am always enormously happy looking at all the cute animals on the PPK.

It makes me happy to see small-ish things make other people so happy.
I'm back in my hometown and seeing all my friends is making me happy. It's nice when you've been away for a while and everyone wants to see you and make you feel awesome.

Congrats on having an awesome friend. I had a similar experience last year on my birthday -- I haven't had a lot of memorable birthdays, and I usually downplay it, but some friends surprised me and gave me a great day -- I felt really happy and grateful.

I'm glad you had such an awesome birthday! And hurray for celebrating the simple things in life. I'm happy because it's Friday, and I can sit in bed with a sleepy puppy curled up next to me.
