I find it strange that omnivores go to such lengths to feel OK about the killing animals they consume. Why not, you know, not eat the lobsters if you're so worried about the "humane" manner in which they die?

I always find it crazy that something that results in death can be described as "humane".

The funny thing about this is that people concerned about the lobsters almost certainly eat factory farmed chicken from the grocery store without a second thought.

As icky as this makes me feel it is less icky than the traditional way of killing lobsters and other crustaceans.

Surely humane [sic] methods have got to be a little quicker than seconds.

This makes me really sad. Can't we just, you know, not kill other animals?

Some people have an easier time justifying their life-style. Some people realize that their life-style is stupid and causing undue harm to animals, and they change.
Would be nice to stop wasting money finding better ways to justify an animals death and spend the money and time elsewhere, like sustainable energy, or global hunger.

But hey, let's just find a better way to kill things.

Things like this help with that justification process, don't they?!
I can hear it now: "I eat humanely killed lobsters and other crustaceans. And you know, grass-fed beef. Free-range chickens... because the animals are treated humanely."

ick.

I hate hearing about thus kind of shitake. All I say to these people is ugggfgh.

Don't be silly, the Crustastun only avoids prolonged suffering. Cause, y'know, just a little bit of suffering is ok, right?
