Benjamin used to get upset that all the machines at the gym were for adults and would tell me, "They need to make chines for little people." He also used to call Publix "Pux".

Phoenix used to call himself "Teenix" and said "eyegow" instead of "eyebrow". He also called Bumblebee (the Transformer) "Bumblebeef".

my 2 year old says
"Ot"-off
"darf gator"-darth vader
"cunkin"-pumpkin or cupcake, we made pumpkin cupcakes for a month just to hear her ask for a cunkin cunkin

my 5 year old also shortened things, all I can remember is "no-cue" meant no thank you. He also says paper toilet instead of toilet paper and refuses to believe that it's the other way around.

Until relatively recently, both kids called him Dark Vader.

she doesn't do "s" so that makes lots of stuff cute :D

Luna pronounces l as a y. So she is "Yuna" and lemons are "yemons." She also asked me the other day if I was going to "urinate" my gums. Took me awhile to realize she meant irrigate my gums. And, when she sings along to katy perry's teenage dream she says cheesecake dream. :)

Mine both still say aMiNal instead of aNiMal, even though they both can spell the word now and say it correctly. Just a habit I guess.

Man, I can't wait until Inez talks. I love all of these!

My friend's little boy, Bishop, used to call himself Bibip and say my name, Honora, as Ananya. I miss both of those. Oh, and motorcycle and avocado were both muhcaco for a long time. So cute!

When mine was just over a year when she said "more vacuum!" it somehow sounded exactly like "mother f-in' " I'm a terrible mom because it made me laugh every time and I would even grab her toy vacuum just to get her to say it.

Zola used to pronounce Felix as Fecal. That was fun.
Felix used to pronounce look as yuck. That took me awhile to figure out. He'd say, "Yuck, a bird!" And I'd say, "Birds aren't yucky." Then he'd say, "Yuck, a car!" and I'd say, "I thought you liked cars?!"

I love all of these...so cute, I miss those days.

My daughter said reneckognize instead of recognize and they both said piddow, yeddow, etc. I guess L's in the middle are hard. They both still say patterin and satterin instead of pattern and Saturn, and they are nine and twelve. This is the only mispronunciation that is still hanging on. I'm not sure if they can't say them correctly or if it's just habit by now.

When my mom was a toddler, she'd introduce her little sister Linda as "my yil sissa Yinna."

vegchulls = vegetables, as in, "Here, Felix, you can have my vegchulls. I don't like vegchulls."

The new one this weeks is her calling out a loud "Lactose!" (It was very confusing for me, until I realized she means to be like Alicia from Diego, calling out "Lasso!").

A kid I used to babysit said "dubba dubba dooooooo" for "w", it was pretty awesome. He did it every single time for months.

Shae spoke very clearly from early on, so we missed all the silly stuff, but he had one word, video, that he pronounced "Veeeed e o" and refused to say correctly, would tell us, we needed to look it up because we were saying it wrong. That was fun.

My nephew says "double x".

No babies of my own, but I have lots of little cousins, nieces and nephews... I can't help but laugh anytime I hear these:

yip-sh*t = lipstick
smeserie street = sesame street
clippered = clifford
puh-prise! = surprise
adacado = avocado (and sometimes colorado, too!)
fire f*ck = fire truck

umkins = ice cream

Ania can say ice, and she can say cream, but stick them together and she cannot pronounce it. It's so cute.

my grandmother has this accent at age 84!! along with Pepsuh-cola and melk.

my kid didn't do much of the mispronunciations, and we have a lot of the predictable ones for bilingual kids (just basic between-the-language screwups like reversing compound nouns [juice orange instead of OJ] and stress in the wrong places [PEEjamas vs paJAmas] due to the other language). but my siblings were gold mines.
-fire fork. it was one of the (few) highlights of my teenage years, getting my brother to say it anytime, anywhere.
-nobody could pronounce my name (tracy) so I was either Noonee or DeeDee until I went to college. I think I prefer Noonee to my own name, actually.....
-dough was my sister's word for vagina, so you can imagine how much fun it was in the kitchen.

We find we miss the mispronunciations whenever Taylor moves ahead to saying things correctly. My favorite was 'beeedle-ee' for broccoli and 'chochit' for chocolate'. She's three now and there are still cute ones, but they escape me now. I think my favorite thing about her speech is that, while we're all in Florida and not one person in the family has any discernible accent, she sounds like she's from New York often. 'It's dawk in theah!' and then will switch to a bit of an Aussie with something like 'I'm foyine' for I'm fine.

ah, the little voices. how I love them!

Mine went through a bizarre phase where she spoke a few words with a Brooklyn style accent and nearly everything else sounding very British. It was awesome but I don't know where it came from since we live in North Carolina. Man, now I miss that stage.

oooh, I forgot my very favorite! Almost every night, Taylor demands that I sing 311 to her while I rock her to sleep. To do this she says, 'mommy, Dance a yemen'. It's so adorable I can hardly stand it. Two tunes and the girl is out.

I'm extending this thread to include my Karate Sensei who has a wonderfully cute way of speaking English. Don't tell him I said so though.

Some of his best words are:
Freak up- Freak out
BooBoo- Boob (He got that from a kid who complained someone hit her in the boobies. He had to ask us what that meant. "What is Boobie?")
ChaChaCha- diareah (I think this one came from Bevis and Butt Head..)

My Favorite was him agreeing with me that my sister in law was being a bisque. "She's so b-itch." I want that phrase to become slang.

Not a mispronunciation but I had a giggle today when BabyG (one of my nanny charges) was watching Dora. Dora says to shout out "cuidado" (Spanish for careful), and I hear her, in British voice, shouting "potahto, potahto". Oi. :D
