I went 2 weeks ago with some friends and it got raves all around. Best glazed donut ever. Hell, best vegan donut ever. No joke. (the long glazed one). Also, we shared the popcorn chicken, which was awesome. And my guy friend got a burrito and ate it on the spot, then asked if it would be weird if he got another. Now he can't wait to go back. Says it was his fave burrito, period. I don't remember what kind he had, but still.
So, yay! Awesome place!

I got the potato knish there about a month ago. I hate to say this, but it was pretty awful. It was very dry and completely tasteless. There had to be some spices (or at least onion) in the potato because the filling was grey, but it didn't taste like anything. Had I not been starving (and extremely averse to wasting food), I probably would have thrown it away.
I think I just made a bad choice, though, and will definitely try them out again.

I've eaten there twice now. First time I got a 'steak' burrito (I think it's called carne asada?) and it was awesome! It had a lot of great flavor and the ingredients seemed fresh. I ate it in the car, so it does travel well too. Also had a donut, which for me was a bit too fried-ish, I like a more cakey donut. But my partner and good friend, who isn't even vegan, loves them.
Second time I had a hotdog and a red velvet cupcake, again on the go. The location is great for taking out and eating in thompkins sq. park. The hotdog was your usual vegan hotdog, nothing special, but that was fine with me. I got it with cheeze too. The cupcake was delicious. My partner got the Wild Western sandwich and loved it. I forget what he had for dessert. We'll definitely be going back to this place because it is one block from where I get my hair cut.

You East Coasters are funny. I can't imagine a burrito that wasn't transportable!

cool, thanks! i'm a little confused what to do after i click the second link - it brought me to a page that said "we'll be in your city soon", so i chose NYC as my location, and it brought me to a deal for a bike tour or something.

oops! sorry for the delay. i went out to bring the mail to the post office and get groceries. :-p
i think the best way to proceed would to click the link for non-members, sign up and then if you could click the members link, that'd be awesome! <3
and let me know if they let you use the $5 sign-up bonus toward your first purchase, or if they only award it to you after you purchase your first deal. (that's usually how these sites work, but i've seen some anomalies.)

yeah, i bought it! i don't know what's going on. (to clarify, i bought only through http://t.co/hCLhLUI - not the other, for fear that i might screw something up. i even tried putting in the string of characters in the URL in the box for promotional codes!)

hmmmm. fishy. i'm gonna send you a PM. i'll need to know which e-mail you used when you signed up so i can refer to it when i write to them. i'll give it until after the deal closes on tuesday night. they might wait until the deal ends to assign any credit. (i don't think that's what they've been doing in the past though.)

I had one too this week, and it was not awful but definitely dry and not much to recommend it, except it was pretty filling. I had it at home where I could slather with mustard, which is what I always do with knish anyway. Today I had a boston creme donut and that was damn fine. I really don't eat donuts very often so maybe that's why this tasted so delicious.

I gave them a second chance on Sunday because one of my friends works there now and they totally deserved it. I got:
A chocolate chip cookie: Good. A mini Boston creme cupcake: tasty, but that's not Boston creme in there. Fried Kool-Aid: Kind of like a giant, tart Dunkin' Donuts Munchkin. I'd eat it again if it wasn't FRIED KOOL-AID. BLT Sandwich: Good, but small. Not an $8 sandwich, especially when compared to Terri and Snice. Put some avocado on there, and we're good. Chocolate iced sprinkled doughnut: Good. Vanilla iced sprinkled doughnut: OK, but it was the first time I'd ever had a doughnut that actually tasted fried. Maple bar: Nice. I don't really like maple, but my friend does so I got it. It's not overly mapley, so I was totally able to eat it. Boston Creme doughnut: A little dense, but tasty. Again, that's not Boston creme. The filling was really heavy, so I scooped most of it out and just ate the doughnut.
Total cost: About $20, even with the overpriced sandwich, so I really can't complain.
Bottom line: It's all good. Nothing really made me think "OHMYGOD I want to eat this all the time!" but I'd eat any of it except the Boston creme again if I was in the area, though I might look for a more filling sandwich for my $8. The fried Kool-Aid was definitely the highlight.

I just asked someone who used to work there: they moved to California.
Wish I'd known; I would have had one last fried Kool-Aid.

whoa. I was just there only about 3 weeks ago or so. They'd changed things around a bit inside and got rid of the burrito bar. I had no inkling they were closing.

that's kinda shitty to be sneaky to not allow people who had purchased vouchers to use them up before they left.

Some of those vouchers can take a year to expire. If they were doing shitty, do you really expect them to keep a business that's bleeding money open just so people can use some (possibly refundable) coupons?
